I like the product, but I’m not going to validate the marketing by buying it.
I am puzzled that Moa is opting for such a strong brand-image, when they could simply advertise that they make nice beer. Branding is important for products that have no major tangible points of difference. But well-made craft beer already has points of difference, which Moa is choosing to make nothing of.

Lilith, I no groupie! He is now a friend. Friends hug :)
Oh, I’m just teasing, trying to hide my insane jealousy. ;-)
Jack – there are actually 2 vols of Mermaid Avenue . Vol 2 slightly less memorable, but both are great. Bragg’s such a good match for the Guthrie material, and (as I recall) the tunes are his.

I don’t think your Modern Manhood is quite Premium enough to cope with me.

Sofie, you groupie!! ;-)
Great shots Jackson, and I wish I'd been there for the Mermaid Avenue songs. I like them very much.

The trouble with the archaic-misogynist pitch is that surely a big part of the craft-beer market is smart, educated, thinking people. Who are going to think this is douchey and lame.
Moments of manhood, indeed! Moments of being an asshole. How aspirational.

If my memory serves me correctly, John Campbell publicly said that he regretted his uncompromising approach in that interview. It was a long time after the interview but for me it did say something about the man.
JC had a minor car accident on the way home from doing that interview; he said it was because he was so upset about how it had gone. I think he’s a genuinely nice and fair-minded man. A pity Clark couldn't forgive him.

Regarding "soft" news, I think the term covers a lot of different things, from the truly trivial (celebrity hairstyles, ducks in danger) to large issues seen from a personal perspective, to voyeuristic horror stories where everybody cries on camera.
And any of these types can be done well or badly. Telling the stories of individuals can illuminate and give insight into larger issues (like the CL red zone stories), but when done badly, personal stories can be selected and/or shaped to fit a convenient narrative.
