Hard News: The question of Afghanistan…, in reply to
9/11 short summary – 15 Saudi Arabians (+ 4 other Arabs) from an organisation headed by a Saudi Arabian, that was financed by Gulf State (Saudi) Arabs and dedicated to impostion of a Wahhabist religious cause crashed 4 planes in America. It is a complete mystery who did what and who was involved. Must have been Afghanistan. Or Iraq.
Either that or those damned Commies!!!!

If I dig around a bit I can find enough information on almost any subject to come to an "Informed position" and thus form an opinion worthy of an educated person. I don't need no stinkin' agrogators (or badgers for that matter)
The problem is not what the curious can find to broaden the mind but what "Joe Average" is fed to keep him in line. -

Evidence schmevidence. Bring on the Bible based "Charter Schools" and let Truthiness reign.
I was presented with some remarkable ideas: the earliest fossil assemblages look no different from modern organisms; there was ample room on Noah’s Ark because all species present today are descended from about 8,000 “kinds” that were initially created; radiometric dating of materials has been proven not to work; rocks cannot fold (bend under pressure)—only soft sediment can; the Grand Canyon, far from clearly placing the unfathomable depth of geologic time on display, is actually definitive evidence for Noah’s flood..
A good read actually, mostly to remind us of the power of ignorance.

There is a Maori author called James George.
One of my neighbours up North is John George. So I suppose it's not that unusual. My point was that the more "enthusiastic" opinions here are, more often that not, from people with "two first names" spooky huh? ;-)

Ok, having wracked my brains I have to ask. What is a Perhaps Hand?

Capture: Flash Cars, in reply to
I was part of the Queen St scene. It was a great time to be growing up. Cool cars and evencooler people.
Unfortunately those that were jealous of the cool people now run the City. I miss the buzz of a Friday night cruise down Queen St. These days we just get the drunks and the homeless.
Want them to drink less? sell them twice as much, simpleAt Sai Superette & Liquor in the CBD, Jay Patel can't sell single servings of RTDs any more. But he can sell pairs of alcopop cans he's taped together.
Auckland Council said it asked licencees to limit the sale of single-serve drinks because the Liquor Licensing Authority was concerned about single sales in liquor ban areas.
Our Civic Leaders have done wonderful job of creating a “World Class City” eh?.
