  • Random Play: An aerial ballet of steel…,

    Nice arial photo Steven.

The bridge (which ever is used) is needed and connects Tank Farm with the rest of the Viaduct nicely.

Of concern to me is the apartments and their size in relation to the space and their impact on the waterfront. It is a great place for it but just have a look at the Hilton Htl one warf over as to how far they'll take it if you let them.
Further to that increase in occupation I'm concerned about stormwater (from up the hill) and the fact eveything seaward of Fanshaw St is reclaimed land - think over-flow of sewage into the harbour around the viaduct.

I am in favour of the proposal for tankfarm, just dot the i and cross the t.

That's gold. Nothing nasty, no fights or dodgy stuff, just a good night out, loved it.

Isn't it rediculous, all of the effort that goes into making clothes that fit like wearing nothing at all?

"I love that we have (for the moment at least), a Prime Minister who is so passionate for life, so damned adventurous."

I agree, and it's nice to think of people as multi dimensional, not being a fan of her leadership she at least reflects iconic aspects of NZ to the outside world.

A bit too much was played of her being in the party with the loss of her friend.

Thanks for the warning, I'll give those other sites a miss, don't really need that today.

Why did Georgia think the Russians weren't gonna hit back?

Putin has his own band of hitler youth. They're carrying the flag with a red back ground and white diagonal cross.

  • Field Theory: Did you see that?,

Brilliant wasn't it. He celebrated more than the guy who won, loved it.

I've been waiting for the "corrupt official" event. You know - the one where the cousin of the official gets to learn to swim and then needs to be saved from drowning in the first heat, only to exit a hero. And thereby winning the "corrupt official" event.

Mike McRoberts smugness over the (lets say) editing of the opening of the Olympics is a real downer. It was a brilliant show - stop peeking in the magicians hat.

Lets not for get the "Real Exocist" on last night.

It showed itself as filling the gap in USA Mental Health. All poor & looking for help with recognised mental health issues and family histories.

He did listen and give some support to people in desperate need of help. They must be able to afford his help rather than clinical support and as he doesn't physically restrain or try to drown the demons, he might actually be doing some good.

Phil Gifford appeared in George Balanis Mayoral advertising campaign. Thanks for the correction on the year though.

  • Hard News: Not actually satire,

Saturdays dinner - grrr. I missed out on the mutton bird but got there in time for the game.

CCC bailing out Dave Henderson, hmm. Does that mean the council will be land lord to a Strip Club? This Chancery Lane club is connected to the once feared and now bankrupted Terry Brown. In the 90s Club wars in Christchurch there were at least two bombings, not that I know who might have been involved, and at least one unexplained death in a crowded bar with no witnesses.

Geogre Balani lost a lot of face when he was tied to Terry Brown and Phil Gifford in the Mayoral election campaign of 2005.

No-one has yet taken on the race track of Christchurchs one-way system.

Henderson has not worked for urban renewal, but rather has worked as a commercial developer. He has built bars and cheap "student flats" - think Auckland Train Station student flats. There is no mixed use, or constant use of space, which would create a living vatal and safe city. There is a boozey lane or two with no other viable activities in
Sol Square. This is why accomodation should be placed first and it might help if it's insulated and double glazed for Christchurch weather and a little noise.

  • Hard News: Not actually satire,

The Great News Paper, Nor' West News (fortnightly community news paper for the North West Suburbs of Christchurch) has followed up on the story that ACT candidate Aaron Keown is blaming Clayton Cosgrove for the tragic death of his Mum who was killed in a car crash caused by "boy racers" (a three car crash and the two at fault were 25yrs & 18yrs) earlier this year.
Cosgrove has reacted with some class to Keowns emotional out burst. ACT was the only political party to vote against Cosgroves Boy Racer Bill in 2003.
This only matters if ACT get above 5% as Keown could enter Parliment on ACTs list. Waimakariri is pretty safe Labour as ACT polled 100 below Legalise Cannabis last time.

Having had a look through the 3 or 4 free community papers this week, each one had a couple of great little stories in them.
It's just a shame it couldn't be consolidated on one good solid local paper, rather than the rehashed national & international wall paper that comes out every day in The Press.

Could someone do a bit on investigative journalism on David Henderson, and the Christchurch City Councillors personal investments in his operations?
The Press has come back with CCC doing a bail-out of one of his failing ventures in Christchurch - Chanery Lane.
Why did the pubs go in first at SOL Square & who gained from that?
