Hard News: Dirty Politics, in reply to
There are bound to be honourable people within the National Party who are sickened by the revelations in the book.
There have been a lot of pious affirmations lately about the existence of these unicorn-like elvenfolk. Finding one that would risk sullying its fine mind by actually reading the book seems even harder now than at the time of The Hollow Men.

The Slater email which finally dealt to Collins suggests the Herald should be having harsh words with Jared Savage.

Part of it may be that there are hardly any right-wing musicians and artists and those who are aren’t currently movement to anger.
Gray Bartlett’s one of the very few overt ones, and he goes way back to “The Ballad of Robbie Muldoon”.
Suzanne Prentice dedicated I Wish I Was Waltzing With You to Muldoon when performing at an event during National's losing 1984 campaign, but I doubt if it was written with him in mind.

The quiz master has limited space in his scoring spreadsheet for long names, so he shortened it to “Cameron Slater is Shit” which we were happy with.
A bit like the printed songlist in a Korean karaoke bar, where You Aint Nothin' But a Hound Dog became You Aint Nothin' But a Ho.

Paul Brislen follows up on branding and the tactics used in Dirty Politics.
Certainly more straightforward than fellow PR flack Patrick Smellie's faux fessing up, complete with a weaseling passive-aggressive swipe at Hager.

The Electoral Commission seems to have really jumped the shark with this one.

One of Chris Knox's early 90s Max Media strips showed its hungover hero being woken by a wrong number. The hyped-up caller assumes that he's got through to Pam Corkery on Radio Pacific, and makes a ranting plea to the effect of "Pam! Pam! We gotta rise up and stick it to the man!"
Corkery wasn't alone in selling herself short through believing her own publicity, but the essential talent continues to out.

Oh don’t give the guy oxygen.
Beg to differ there. Slater's like anaerobic bacteria. That's why his enablers are so keen to put the lid back on.

Speaker: If political parties were beer ..., in reply to
Yeah I like Rheineck back in the 80s. It was the beer of freedom and rock awards.
I remember Rupert E Taylor of the Headless Chickens, after winning the Rheineck award, endorsing the product by claiming that, while there were still times when he’d need to put on a miniskirt and head down K Road to put food on the table, the resulting groceries would always include a bottle of Rheineck
