water running to the sea is just wasted draws an indignant response. ‘What about the cultural value, the swimming, the eels?’
For a really good example of this read about the Colorado pulse flow where they managed to get permission to let water flow to the sea again. The public response was impressive.

I disagree – there is a very real public interest here. Outing people who hold these vile opinions about half the human race may go some way to showing how unacceptable these opinions are, and perhaps provide a heads-up to the women who have to interact with them IRL. I read on twitter last night from a number of women who had had to interact with these low-lifes IRL. It also supports Hager’s book where he revealed predatory behaviour on young Nat women. For many, rape culture is a bigger issue than political and business corruption.

From a purely personal perspective those comments had me in tears. I simply could not cope with the sheer vileness on display. So many of the people I love dearly are women, how could anyone be so viscous towards them.
Women are half "the public" and of the other half at least some are deeply offended by those remarks. So yeah it MUST be in the public interest to expose people who speak that way even in (especially in) private.

No, this isn't how everyone does it. That's a myth. And the failure to acknowledge that what has been uncovered here is unprecedented and unacceptable is dishonest, delusional, or both.
But we have the weird situation where significant elements in the main media outlets are insisting that this is all just normal and there is nothing to see.
I honestly don't understand what value there is for The Herald, TVNZ, TV3, and the main radio media outlets to all sit back and just let Key and his cronies who have taken over the National party just get away with it.
Why won't the media expose this for what it is? Corrupt, vile, nasty, self serving political game playing the likes of which we have never experienced in New Zealand before.

people aren’t [cheap]
Yup. Especially people with talent, although they frequently sell themselves short.
But there are tools that allow people like me to contribute, and I think there are a lot of people like me who would contribute.
I seriously don't know how hard it would be to do, it may well be too hard, and that would be fine. But it's an idea.

This may be stupid, no worries if it is, but is there a way that a u-tube channel or something similar could fill the gap so obviously left by the loss of our state broadcasters.
The fact is any semblance of a state broadcaster has gone. I would love for it to come back, such an institution fills a role in society that more than makes up for the taxes required to fund it.
But given it isn't likely to happen soon, is there something else that could be created to take it's place. Cheap low cost in actual dollars, maybe funded by give a little or something similar. With places like PAS linking through, it might become well enough known to at least partially fill the gap you describe.

So I’m now hoping you live in the same St as us.
Yes we do. Just a bit further down. And the digression is good for my soul at least and others can just skip over it.

Ummm …. err …. wow …..
It’s all really depressing. Somehow we’ve become a society where it’s OK to bully people into to doing what they passionately believe is wrong. Where bullying is rewarded with power. Where victims are blamed.
I get that people have different ideologies and I get that people genuinely believe that National party policies are the best for the country, but I don’t get them accepting corrupt bullys running their party and the country. Because that has very little to do with enacting National party policy and everything to do with increasing the personal power and wealth of those same corrupt individuals.
