My awesome drumming moment was in 1995 (or thereabouts) when Daniel Mancini's band Mancini played at Waikato Uni's Wailing Bongo bar and drafted Biff Bangle on a second drumkit. That's right, two drummers. I remember sitting there, entranced by the raw tribal energy coming from the stage. There were other instruments in the band, but they didn't matter. That night the drums, they were telling a story.

I was getting a bit carried away - I'm new here.
No worries, Kelly, and welcome to PA System. I'm just a bit paranoid with things hotting up around election time.

Whoooa there nellys... Lets not get too worked up here.
Kelly, this is your first post at PA System. I'm suspicious. Are you somehow affiliated with the Herald?

the University of Toronto until 1955 required students to warrant that they were free of "mental problems" before reading Joyce's book
Last year, I got about halfway through Ulysses before I was forced to give it up due to boredom. Did the book actually make me mental?

nobody had bothered to respond to my 5 email requests
I had a hilarious experience with Xtra - I emailed their helpdesk email address from the help webpage, then got an automated reply saying the email address was not in use and I should, like, fix it myself using the help pages on the website.
It looks like it's been changed now - now there isn't even an email address to use.
I guess finding literate helpdesk workers was too difficult.

Wait, you have a cool new job, but one that won't let you blog?
That's not cool.

__Oh, that's the rope that pirates use to tie their ships to the docks, right?__
Oh well done Sir. Mind if I use that?
It's all yours, madam.

Landline? Land ... line? What is this "landline" of which you speak?
Oh, that's the rope that pirates use to tie their ships to the docks, right?

(That was a strange formatting result with the asterisks.)

I was getting a weird deja vu feeling about this situation and I just remembered who I was reminded of: L** S***.
L** was a troubled young lady who had 15 seconds of fame a few years ago due to her antics on NZ Idol, Craccum magazine and some amateur porn. She ended up being raked over the coals in the Something Awful forums. It didn't make her go away.
While WO obviously feels that he must out this new girl as a terrible person who - gasp - made up/exaggerated some biographical details, I suspect that the attention will fuel her need for attention. While ignoring isn't as much fun, it would be a more effective response.
