Korako stood undaunted in the face of Labour's derision. He pulled out Maori proverbs, noting his bill was "he iti, he pounamu" - [very small, but quality].
He spoke about a victim of lost luggage. That victim was Labour MP Clayton Cosgrove who lost his luggage on a ministerial trip to Canada in 2010.
Of course, the real victim there was the taxpayer who had to fork out $1569 for a replacement suit, $56 for a tie and $61 for a shirt and socks so Cosgrove didn't go to his meetings dressed in airline business-class pyjamas.
Korako insisted Cosgrove may well have recovered his original suit if only there had been a better means of drawing attention to the lost and found binhttp://www.nzherald.co.nz/politics/news/article.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=11696003
Korako's example seems ill-thought out. Surely Cosgrove's luggage would have been the Airline's problem not the Airport's - and did he not take out travel insurance?

Uber is suing London's transport regulator in the latest skirmish over rules that may harm the controversial company's business.
Uber will ask London judges to decide the legality of rules that require drivers from non-English speaking countries to pass a language exam, the company said in a statement. The measures also force Uber to notify Transport for London of any changes made to its mobile-phone app.http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11696146

Ignore this - well done Lisa Carrington.
I got confused by the interactive graphic in this story

I thought they'd cloned her for the race - but it seems to be a league table of past victories... -
Bidding, a due...
The only result I can see is that the market might be flooded with cheaply auctioned-off Swiss Army knives* and Leatherman© tools and other heirloom knives, confiscated at embarkation? (or are those Airline responsibilities, too?)
...and possibly a Nuk Korako 'auction figure' toy!The Nats would do well to put the 'Baggage of the Left' behind them...
*would a massive tide of these be called a 'Spring Victorinox'?

I want to know what a figurative man is …
I'm sure that a figure-eightive man is probably an ice skater,
but it gets thinner the further I get from the shore...

http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/83185838/uber-talks-with-christchurch-airport-about-access
Christchurch International Airport has denied "blocking" a computer application used by people seeking rides with cut price taxi service Uber.
The complaint was made by an Uber driver.
Airport spokeswoman Yvonne Densem said her company was in talks with Uber which she said "is not collecting passengers from the airport".
Uber confirmed it won't pick up passengers but said they could walk off the property and call a driver -

Motorists live in this fantasy place where there’s infinite oil that can be burned with no consequences…
Just read this book about a very possible future with rationed water too…
…well worth a look.

There’s no sense of fare play, or fare pay, it seems down here.

I got the impression that Key was espousing his personal position, or that of the caucus coterie, which is a very small sample and not (as you point out) in line with the wishes of the people of the country, including a compelling number of National voters.
Key doesn't get to govern based on his own wishes - has anyone explained that to him properly. -
