It's worse than Shortland St... is it a re-run? Maybe they will repeat it on digital TV when it arrives - apparently it's going to be the replay channel. These two can't even ad-lib let alone act. How did he get a job on Lord of the Rings? Thank God he only had two lines in the whole ten hours of the three LOTR films. Is he related to Bob Parker? Is she related to Maud Basham (Aunt Daisy)?

Carmen and Guy were magic on Shortland Street. They were probably the best Shorty couple ever, and I think 2 People was an attempt at carrying on their chemistry post-Shortland Street. But sadly...
But to Healey and Parker's credit, the worst thing about this clip is the theme song. The opening titles cabaret version of Mi-Sex's "People" is surely the worst thing ever to fall into the category of New Zealand music.

I am just hoping against hope that no one has any copies of Gloss out there, they would just look so horid today. Vintage 80s Auckland Yuppies+ shoulder pads mmmm

THat theme music really is awful. Yet another reason to believe that stellar* is responsible for so much that is wrong with the world...

But that sort of stuff is in retro vogue now. If Gloss was rerun, the 16-year-olds of today would probably really be into it for all the same reasons it would make their parents cringe.
I'm jonesing for the episode where Maxine's hat was so wide she declared that double doors were needed for her office, and also the one where Push Push made a guest appearance.
Oh, and the season one (I think) finale where Miranda Harcourt's character kills herself by mournfully wading out into the ocean.
Ok, I declare a need for this to be released on DVD.

Ohhh! I want! hahahaha

Gloss has almost spawned as many celebs as Shorty St. Danielle Cormack, Lisa Chappell, and many of the original Shortland St crew. My next door neighbour at the time, Sasi who also did the door at The Box, was on it and so was Gee Ling. Roll on the repeats. I think Gloss was much better TV than this 2 People dross...

Miranda Harcout waded out into the ocean in the very last episode of season three while everyone else was having a party at Maxines - if my then adolescent mind is correct in its recall.
And agree - Maxine's hat not fitting through the door was a series highlight.
As for 2 People - it was a Neil Roberts-inspired move (Newsnight Version 2 might have been the intention I think). I wonder if you'd get Bic Runga singing a theme song for a TV2 newsmag now?
