More like a posh version of an Australian giggle hat than a Baker Street dorksteerer.

Looks like John Key is moonlighting as a sub for the NZ Herald website:

Time to bring on the subs.

Current lead story on the Herald website is … just not news.

Breaking news: Lack of subs leads to lack of depth charges.

Another classic Fairfax fail. Whenever you browse image libraries they have these helpful little keywords to assist in your search. Good stuff. However cut & pasting all of them for reuse as your photo caption is not usually recommended.

And nobody at Fairfax noticed. Doh!

They've picked up on that and changed it to the more 'off the cuff' caption:
Police arrested four men in relation to a stolen vehicle in Coromandel.

Now Weldon and Mediaworks are eroding what few privileges NZ journalists once had...
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/78927208/mediaworks-admits-leaking-reserve-bank-of-nz-rate-call

Newshub has admitted it leaked the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's March 10 official cash rate decision.
As a result of the leak, the bank will end its long running tradition of allowing journalists who agree not to make any external communication to read the statements ahead of the official release.
After the Reserve Bank's surprise decision to lower the official cash rate on March 10, blogger Michael Reddell claimed that he was told of the decision almost an hour before the embargo lifted.

Leaking it to a blogger when they could have called a broker and made a moderate amount of money in a fairly short time. Bizarre.

Maybe it's because that website where people could gamble anonymously on inside information isn't around any more?

Hangry... something which at first appeared to be another front page Herald typo. However it was quoting a Katy Bradford tweet, so I guess it's applicable to the story.

And what does the Herald do when they have hardly any information at all? Repeat what you have... three times! And leave in the "Tweet embed" code for good measure. Sheeesh!

    plane language…

    quoting a Katy Bradford tweet,

    Ahem, that’d be Katie Bradford
    :- )

The Stuff iteration of this story also mentioned ‘Hangry’ 3 times
so I’m not sure if this commenter "I believe ‘Hangry’ is the term you’re looking for…" was being ironic or moronic – I’d like to think the former.

One does wonder though how ‘a woman nearly caused a riot’ – did she ‘almost’ stir a crowd of other passengers into a violent disturbance of the peace – I can imagine the woman in question did have an outburst of uncontrolled emotion, but how did it 'just about' escalate into a plane-wide riot?
While words build pictures, details are lacking…

Third story on the Stuff front page right now.

So, when you’ve already like, reported the death toll, y’know… earlier, and then you want to report it again. Is that when it becomes a told?
