Radiation: You're killin' me

  • Rob Hosking,

My wife's mum (who is a great lady: no ma in law jokes here)
visited us recently to help out: she's a Shortie Street fan, and Claudia (my other half) is now hooked.

So I see it, a bit. Not that I'm defensive about this or anything.

That's by way of preamble: I have a bet with Claudia the killer is a woman.

  • 3410,

Other TV news: 3 or 4 weeks into the new season, Nip/Tuck this week moves to Monday @ 10:30, for some reason.

Shortland St.: Why do they always shake hands with their left hands recently? What's with that?

  • dyan campbell,

You guys, I'd bet on this, the killer is the bad date that Libby and Clare both knew - that fellow Clare and Kieran kidnapped and beat up for scaring Libby and Clare.

Fiona - I love your From the Couch updates, keep them coming!

  • Joanna,

I'm hoping and praying that the killer is Mark, because I am so fucking sick of the whole Maia/Tania blah blah blah, so I think some murder and miscarriages and leaving the series could be in order.

(Wow, I feel like an awful person wishing even pretend miscarriages on people!)

  • Peter Darlington,

Dazed and Confused is a great movie. I dunno whether it was growing up in Blenheim 25 years ago or if it's similar for the whole of the country but that whole summer nights, out in cars, heavy rock, beer and herb, not much happening thing is a great nostalgia trip for us old buggers.

  • Danielle,

My husband grew up on the outskirts of Houston in the 70s. He said Dazed and Confused is completely accurate. And yes, they did chase the freshmen with paddles. L-I-V-I-N!

The removal of 30 Rock is utterly infuriating. BAH!

I don't see why the killer has to be one person, it could be a copy cat. Also have they shared the cause of death for either of them?

Plus, I just found out yesterday that there is an omnibus edition of Shortie on Sunday mornings. I'm not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing...

Anyone else disappointed by what was an unrelentingly silly episode of Dr Who last night? Thank goodness it was only a Xmas special.

  • 3410,

Last night I watched an *entire* segment of One News (from break to break) within a 3 News ad break, AND an *entire* segment of 3 News within a One News ad break.

That old line about the ad breaks being longer than the programmes? Sometimes it's actually true.

  • Venetia King,

State of Play's up against Outrageous Fortune so I can't watch it on Tuesday, but after your recommendation in the Listener I recorded the early-morning repeat of episode one last week. Brilliant. It even hooked my other half, which for a non-SF drama is a fairly remarkable feat.

Oh it's totally Joey with this whole practicing medical procedures thing. Damn.

  • Sam F,

Good to see the Street is still as I remember it, and still failing really hard at getting jiggy with a younger audience. Opener tonight featured intergenerational argument over music - the song in question is apparently "number 3 on the charts with a bullet" - the stereo's turned up to fuel the discussion and the song is revealed as Slim's 'Bullet In My Hand' from about 2001... Kind of endearing, really.

  • Michael Savidge,

TV highlight of the week for me has been the wickedly profane Drawn Together on Prime at 10-30.

Whats not to like about a show that includes the Labia song and God sampling the goodies in a glory hole?

Very funny and well-observed and who would have thunk that Adam Corolla (the man behind The Man Show) had it in him?

A must-see from this reviewer - two stinky thumbs up!

  • Jeremy Andrew,

Yup, Drawn Together is a very funny take on so many genres. The Adult Swim network in the US has quite a few little gems like that. I'm waiting to see if Robot Chicken makes it over here - funniest stop motion animation I ever did see.

  • Joanna,

Although I knew who it'd be when I saw the ads showing a third murder and Jay saying her long goodbyes, I'm still a little surprised that they killed her off. Why oh why couldn't it have been the entire Jefferies family (except for maybe Libby who's grown on me) instead?

But yeah, I'm sticking with Joey as the killer. And I will continue to post comments here about updates even if no one else is still paying attention.
