Keybaggers?

Which reminds me, Democracy deserves a nomination for Semantic Quick Change of 2009. Who would have throught 'democracy' would end the year meaning poll-driven demagoguery?
Angry mob?

In the 'worst word' category.
1. Insomnimac - did I just see that on a billboard, or was I dreaming?
2. Exclusively - apart from not being that gullible, we've been reading about it on PA for days, bro! -
commodities - especially the gold and milk solid varieties.

Octo-grammarian - educated in the eighties.
Sorry, I'm just making it up as I go along...

I don't want to name him, because that would give him undue publicity, but i ran across a so-called 'masculist' complaining about the clitorocentric dykocracy of the feminazis. Wow. What a bagful ! And it ain't knowledge, bro.

Who would have throught 'democracy' would end the year meaning out-sorcing legislation to badly-designed opinion polls?
I'm not sure whether to be more worried about that, or the idea that mandate now means "what everyone who didn't vote wanted".

You are not dreaming. I saw it on a billboard heading towards the Nelson Street off-ramp yesterday. Seems to allude to how eating McD"s keeps you up all night?

Not to start a circlejerk but there are some seriously clever and witty words in here already and we're only 3 pages in. I guess that's the upside of hanging around with the filthy liberal elite.
I was going to say something about Pun-lic Address System but then figured Craig would make that something dirty =)

Got me stumped there -- though Pube-lick Address has potential.

New Zealand's 2009 can be exemplified by an obscure, random, low productiion value animation voiced by an australian-trying-to-do-a-new-zealand-accent.
Weren't the Clones awful? It's not like it's hard to find cheap NZ labor to do the voice-overs, ffs.

Hone soit qui mal y pense.
Hone is that which is bad and thoughtful?
Translation? -
I'd vote for p-rominent musician if I thought it would get past the senses.
Riddle me this, riddle me that...
-
"Always Blow On The Pie"
"Safer Communities Together"
"Moustache-gate"

Hone is that which is bad and thoughtful?
Translation?I think the literal translation, from Old French, is "Let him who thinks ill there be shamed" -- and is the motto of the Order of the Garter. The motto was supposedly the response of the order's founder, Edward III, as he tied to his own leg a garter that fell from the leg of a woman he was dancing with, to much ungracious laughter. Like many charming stories, it's probably too good to be true but should be.
-
Also, according to Wiki:
The motto also appears on the entry gates to pop star Michael Jackson's Neverland estate, emblazoned on his personal crest beneath a royal lion and a gemstone-collared unicorn.Gemstone-collared unicorn is now MY motto...
-
Brian Tamaki-make-ore.
I am the supercity!
Too convoluted?
-
Gemstone-collared unicorn is now MY motto...

You really asked for this
I want to say I didn't, but I suspect that at some level, a level deep down in places I don't talk about at parties, I did....
-
Honi soit qui mal y pense - I always knew it as "evil be to him who evil thinks," and have a vague memory of my Mum saying it was her school motto. Can that be right? Any Sacred Hearters who can confirm or deny?
Loosely translated: "shame on you, sir" or "get your mind out of the gutter," or possibly, depending on the circumstances, "ooh, you are naughty, but I like you."
Or, according to Sellar and Yeatman, "Honey, your silk stocking's hanging down." Hence the Order of the Garter.
Um. Word of the year. Witipedia? (Steve Braunias to thank for that one).
