    I thought you were describing the process of taxation there. ....

    That although welfare is nice, it must first be robbed, in order to be given...

    Jesse James is the Government, all nice when he is giving you something, but not nice if you have to pay for it.

    Reading now from the budget: Creative New Zealand gets an extra $7.1 million over the next four years, the Royal New Zealand Ballet an extra $3.4 million over the same period.

    I expect the current government thinks of the visual arts as purely a commercial matter. Private galleries sell art to people of money. Why should the government interfere in a healthy market?
