Nice one Russell. ;-)
It were like being there. This guy brought his daughter along. Those look like her bikes.
…in Capitalism everything is for sale, nothing has value and somewhere a little girl misses her bike.
I don’t know what the ducks are for.
Teapots I think.
I came back via the northwestern cycleway, and where a section of fence had fallen down, I nipped up on the new left lane westbound for a picture. Naughty me.
I hope you were wearing your Hi-Viz.
Andrew Little’s State of the Nation speech, where I’d been hired to DJ.
They couldn’t afford Max Key?

"How could I not buy that for a dollar?"
Fantastic looking bit of china. Is it signed? Nice post RB. Glad you got out for some fresh(ish) air. I dare you, next time ride the North Western before the chance disappears for ever. What are they gonna do but ask you to leave ,if they can catch you. :)

Here's the thing. After I hopped back over to the cycleway, a car came down down that lane (to exit at Rosebank) and I realised it was OPEN ...
Oops.

He was very pleased that the lot included a set of original 1980s Simmons drum pads – which went for about $5000 back in the day. Cue synthetic drumroll.
Ha! Remember how cutting-edge those things were, and NME's review of Kraftwerk's Man-Machine era London show which featured Simmons precursors - "This is what our fathers died to save us from".

Our roading mate who visited over the AK Anniversary was sayin' that it's still a year away from completion but they have fixed the faulty concrete now and everything is on track although he bitched about the pink cycle path saying it's stuffed up somewhere. Something to do with the entrance around Mercury Lane but I've completely forgotten that conversation.

That story made the ex-hoarder in me’s day. I’m really happy for that Jed.
He seems to have already got the pads working, which is great.

I rode over to and up Mt Eden for the first time in a while today. The exclusion of cars from the summit access road has been transformative – people now feel confident about using it on foot.
This morning there were people walking cycling and running up down, at whatever speed suited them. It really confirmed for me that closing the road to cars was the right call.

Thanks for the beans talk, Ian. I like to think I'm a social climber, but in this time of climber change, I may be a has bean. -

In other neckbreaking News…
I have heard a rumour that TVNZ has taken up the baton from TV3 and are considering “Re-branding” “One News”.
“We are looking at making news more of an instant injection of news on demand” an informed insider told me “The news you want when you need it, a bit like your morning coffee” she told me. “Thinking along these lines we have come up with some exiting ways forward in brand recognition, instant information about things you want to be informed about , and as such have come up with a symbiotic approach to recognitional nomenclature invoking our commitment to News”
The shortlist of names, I am reliably informed is headed by a well canvassed favourite of staff and looks to be the new name of new News…
NewsHit
“I think people will see it as new” she said.
