  • Tom Semmens,

I suspect Judith Tizard is another victim of the Herald effect.

That and the gossip pages of the Sunday papers, which breathlessly gave Nikki Kaye vast amounts of free PR whilst snidely putting down the sitting MP.

  • Craig Ranapia,

    Tom:

Considering some of the rather ugly vitriol being thrown at Nikki Kaye not a million miles from here, perhaps that's one moral high horse that should be left in the stable. If you don't mind.

  • Roger,

Judith Tizard is the only MP I have really known to more than say hello to ... She is one of the kindest people I know.

Thank you for this, as someone who has also worked and (on occasion) socialised with Judith, I could not agree with you more.

Um, where Craig? Could you perhaps once just let a point rest instead of reaching for the faux equivalence? Really.

I don't fully agree, but I'm not going to argue with you on this, as I don't know her personally.

Simon: I kept checking to make sure that they were writing about our NZ. Though I have read similar views on some other blog sites.

Bloody, hell, Craig, did you actually mention a high horse? Because from where I'm sitting, you've been riding this wee pony for the last week or so, and it hasn't been a lot of fun to watch. In the matter at hand, your suggestion that this here board has the same duty to impartiality as the only major newspaper in the country takes some sort of cake, that I'll promise to have delivered to you as soon as you dismount. Jeez.

    Love it:

New Zealand has a complicated and obscure voting system (for example, four parliamentary seats are reserved for Maoris, despite the fact few pure-blood Maoris still exist).

  • Hadyn Green,

I had a wee glace to the left of the thread and noticed our recent posts have almost made a little story:

    Walking Through The Ruins
    The Art of the Deal
    A Vile Curse on Thee!

I like cake. Just make sure you're pulled your head out of the horse's arse, and had a nice long shower first. (And could Mr. Key give me a new pony -- this one is walking funny.) I know it's Tom's hobby horse that the Herald single-handedly changed the government, but much as the truth hurts "blame the media" is somewhat unconvincing.

  • Tom Semmens,

Good old Craig, reliably ignoring the point whilst bitching about how unfair the left is.

Another round in his usual one trick pony of claiming moral equivalence where none exists.
