From Salon:
You gotta love Chris Matthews, calling Tom "The Hammer" DeLay a hater to his face on MSNBC, for predicting the imminent decline and fall of American civilization. As the camera cut away from the fallen GOP strongman, he sputtered, "I don't hate." To which a chuckling Matthews replied, "How about resent, are you OK with that?"

I've done everything I can do to convince my thinking-challenged friends here in SoCal to vote McCain.
My wife and I just voted. Everything went smoothly.
I smell victory in the air!31 PAgirlinNC

If McCain's win is so solid tonight that no lawsuit or vote re-count could overturn it, I will buy everyone a double!
That was at 8:45 am. By 6:00 pm things are looking bleak for the wingnuts.

In the gubernatorial stakes (god, I love that word), Missouri is so far the only state about to change allegiance but thy've only counted 8% so anything can happen
-
Fox and MSNBC are calling Ohio for Obama at this stage.
-
With Udall (called) and Begich and Merkley who are in the bag, the Dems are at 58 in the Senate thus far.
-
Hank Williams is singing at the McCain campaign funeral. Very somber indeed.

Alright, I would like to ask everyone: can we bury the whole jinx thing now, or is it still nailbiting territory?

11/04/08 6:35:16 pmAllow me to describe the perfect storm of my frustration:
- American voters seem about to elect Obama president
- They also deliver a larger majority in the house
- They also grant him close to a super-majority in the Senate
- And, to top it all off--and this is the kicker--with this slate of almost complete power, they will take responsibility for absolutely nothing, because EVERYTHING will be George W. Bush's fault for the next 4 years at least. They are in the dream seat.Looking forward to a repeat on Saturday. :-)

John King has just given McCain the best case scenario and still doesn't get him to the magic number. So effectively he's called the election.
-
I know Stewart has made fun of it over the years, but I want to marry John King's touchscreen map right now.
-
No nailbiting, Sam. History has been made.
If McCain is declared the winner now, I'm joining the Weather Underground.
-
Joy.

I took my hand away from my... some time ago. Words per minute have increased accordingly.

I think BBC trumped the Schadenfreude by interviewing John Bolton. He summed up everything wrong with the Republicans by claiming that McCain was far too centrist, and Palin had done a great deal to energize the base, a great asset. This was set against a backdrop curve showing just how many Americans were disagreeing with him right now. It was like a blue loop closing over his head.
He also gave a gleeful warning that Obama was the most radical Democratic candidate ever selected. I sure hope so, but Bolton saying it makes me doubt it now.

Here in New Haven CT, we've got the champagne out of the fridge already. And I think we're going to open it. Yes, we can.

Hands off Tiso, I had dibs on it for a while now!
And that projection was very telling. McCain would have to win California, Washington, Oregan and/or Hawaii to have a chance.

Now would also be a good time to point out what a complete cock Lieberman is. Wanna know who lost Al Gore the election in 2000?
