  • Lilith __,

    According to this more recent Herald report, Lorde was late on stage because she was sick and vomiting.

    Which does rather make the reviewer look like even more of a twatcock.

  • Jackie Clark,

    Even if she hadn't been, really, 20 minutes late is nothing in the scheme of things.
    I thought she was brilliant - her presence is amazing, and she's very natural with the crowd. So much more confidence and so assured.
    I don't know much about music, but I know what I like. And for someone like me who tends to be a bit stuck in me ways (although I like a good beat), that's a pretty big thing. Also, as I have said to a couple of people, last night was the first time I have been to a music gig in the evening, with kids. It was enormously good fun. Tweens - Misses 9, and 11 yr olds - were witty, and excited, and danced up a storm. I will never go to a concert unless there's kids there. Makes for a much nicer crowd by and large, too.
    A++, would concert again.

    Good to hear. They’re available for future concerts. :-)

    I think I said I’d post more photos, so here you go. I two-toned them.

    I saw the Splore tweet last night too -- and I don't think the person behind the Splore account is the kind to make things up. Didn't retweet it because I didn't want to be the one who made "vomit" the word of the evening :-)

    “V-bomb”? ;-)

    If it’s true, she’s even more of a trouper than we thought.

    For those who haven’t seen it, there’s an appreciative and atmospheric review here . Conveys the same joyful vibe I was feeling on Twitter last night.

  • Hebe,

    Isn't Lorde/Ella amazing? Wonderful talent, stage persona, and teenage-goofy. And she's still connected to her peer-group fans, the Auckland originals and the ones around the country -- like my two 15-year-olds who have dreams and have been riveted and inspired by her creative achievements and where they have taken her. Wearing school shoes to the Grammys: how real is that? They are especially taken by David Bowie's praise.

    Thanks Lorde/Ella: you've uplifted us all in this house.
