  • Hebe, in reply to Lilith __,

Is this permission to boast that I had to scrape ice off my bike seat in order to ride home last night at 10pm? :-)

Taking Ice off the bike seat shows a strength of character Lilith! On Saturday night we went to leave home at 7pm and the car's back doors were unbudgeably frozen shut. Never had that happen in Christchurch that early in the evening.

the field kitchen with recycling depot :)

Fine indoor-outdoor flow with a flexible work triangle arrangement, and a fashion-forward green palette Sofie. It goes well with my European-inspired Richter fitted bathroom.

was a chilly one, eh?! I have to remind myself how I love the weather here in non-Winter times!

    PS your bathroom is well-ventilated!

Men leave the ice on. It helps sometimes.

Has a very dense roof in that tree though. Not many volunteers for a bath -- they all prefer the shower inside for some strange reason. Our bath was to have gone in a funky glasshouse made of nice old wooden windows against the brick wall of next door's garage. I had planted lemon and lime trees and was planning a bit of a jungle with the bath in the centre. Last year made that idea much less attractive.

People who bathe in glass houses should not have earthquakes. :-/

    Out side loo.

Hebe, This is my local dairy about 4 k from our shed. We debate whether our shed is a workshop/studio or a shed. Hey, he built it , his shed, but man, pretty comfy.
We so love the local coop dairy (some are friends of ours but all are friends of ours )and they are having a Solstice night Thurs and bonfire and drums, at the dairy. All good in my book .Them and their organic produce and grains. :)

I mean shit, even a loo!! And cappuccinos.

Madam, I am more of a tea tray.
But seriously, I know cold. When I were a lad we had ice on the pavement that were three inches thick until June
. Yer daren't run fer running into your own frozen breath, could put your eyes out that frost.

What else could I do but run outside and photograph ours too...

The outside dunny, so cute we practically bought the house on the strength of it.

Solstice night, Bush Fairies, a cool shed; wonderful. Hope you have a potbelly stove in there too. That's a good road pic too.

Ahh, you stepped over the line to self sufficiency. :) Makes you feel good huh to move away from reliance on others to help one to breathe. If I can convince anyone of nothing but ,it would be that it is a breath of fresh air. In 3 weeks I'll be back in Auckland . In 3 and a half weeks I'll be planning to get back to the bush. In 3 years I'll wanna live in the bush because I'll have an amazing choice.

These feet weren't made for walkabouts. Moses Toeses - sculpture in Myers Park. Someone had painted the nails.

Ew. Reminds me of a picture of a woman's bare feet with stiletto heels photoshopped as flesh; creepy.

    Moses Toeses

I remember that Moses. A scaled-down Carrara statue factory knock-off of this one, is he still near the bottom of the steps from St Kevins Arcade?

In fact, here he is this very evening…. and as a bonus, the funny little goat sculpture too.

Far out. Looks like he got a new plinth or whatever the term is sometime in the years since I first unexpectedly came across him. Lovely to see him still there, a mildly magical corner of Auckland.
