You change your knickers to avoid being considered a navvy.
The logic behind why one should wear fresh undergarments when one leaves the house is to preserve one's dignity, if you have your old daggy knickers on whilst out and have an accident that puts you into hospital the nurses will laugh at you when they have to undress you and get you ready for theatre - one needs to avoid being considered to have come from a family of navvies.

Groups of navvies would often turn up in smaller towns or villages and live outside in the elements, until they were paid by the locals to either repair a road or just go away.
Navvies living rough were often considered unclean and smelly having not washed their garments. -

Getting rid of the Kiwishare obligation will stuff up free local calling, emergency and rural services and NZ ownership/control and allow whatever “Telecom” morphs into to undetake price gouging without check.

Joining the local council pool or gym and showering there is a really good idea.
In the UK often rainwater is recycled with your grey waste water, (showers, bath hand basins) and is stored for reuse in the black waste system (WCs), the grey waste storage tanks should have a treatment process and filter process and also have a mains back up to feed the storage tanks if they are low.
If the treatment isn't "maintained" the grey waste gets ugly fast and if this combined with a failure of the valve (protection system) from the mains pressure to the grey waste storage results in backflow contamination from the grey waste tanks into all parts of your mains water system.
The bacteria that develops can be resistant to chlorine and antibiotic treatments.

The event is just bullshit the Destiny Church conference and the four politicians that attended are in effect endorsing Bishop Brian's vision of his own greatness. Thumbs up to Campbell live for running the story.
I can understand Jones, Henare and Sharples being there, they are whoring for votes, but Hone with what is a left of the "true left" position; there is nothing there for him and he undermines himself. Perhaps Hone wanted to observe from a master the finer points of managing a personality cult.
I am not in favour of the state providing funding for the marketing initiatives of religious fanatics whose spiritual leaders ‘teachings’ are in essence hate speech.

that is not wildly out of proportion. And all of this when staff and customers are expecting more and more IT services many of which will have to be online.
I just don't see if that the expectations of staff and customers are driving the IT budget blowout.
As a ratepayer no one asked me about what I wanted and no one seems to have had much regard to council staff.
IMHO cost overruns in pursuit of the enhanced customer experience is code for consultants swilling as long and as hard as they can whilst their snouts are in the public/ratepayer funded trough.

Just deal with this years, $43.2 Mill, next years, $86.5 Mill and the following years $77.8 Mill.

I don’t consider Politicians lie as little as Brian Edwards has stated on Media 7.
The "Political Lie" of the moments is the asset sales agenda and the lack of credible opposition. It is a worry that 2/3 rd of NZ voters are against asset sales yet National appear to be able to govern alone – Perhaps the biggest lie is the lie the electorate is telling itself.
That the assets sales are necessary to raise capital and reduce the deficit; bear in mind the proceeds from the proposed sales will only cover - was it I read somewhere - 14 weeks of the Govt's present spend – and if they want to change the situation where Kiwisaver funds can’t be invested locally in infrastructure then change the scheme.
The NZ dollar has risen to record highs against the US in part based on the speculation around the proposed asset sale - the markets are, it appears, already factoring in a National win, assets sales and significant Chinese investment in NZ as a certainty.
Perhaps the government borrowing more than they needed a few months ago when the NZ $ was low was to enable govt to effectively retire more govt debt when the $ is higher.
