  • Hard News: Cultures and violence,

I've been shooed out of a previous thread by Danielle and Megan while trying to have a respectful discussion on the same issue. It would be nice if we could chat about something else for change. Anyway here goes...

It’s not up to us to mop the brow of dudes who can’t handle the fact that women are equal to them

No you shouldn't have to do that. And you shouldn't have to justify your self to men or anyone else but someone has to engage these men and bring them along because some of (a lot of them) have fucking bushmaster semi automatics

  • Hard News: Cultures and violence, in reply to Peter Graham,

How can he be so precise with the word ‘bear’ but totally ignore ‘well regulated’ I don’t understand how he can get away with that inconsistency..hes like a year 11 debating club.

  • Hard News: Cultures and violence,

Yes most of the rampages carried out have been with legally owned guns...the person who shot up the theater (how pleasant I have forgotten his name) got his through the bloody mail!

I think many Americans have forgotten about the first part of the second amendment..."as part of a well regulated militia"

I have this interesting idea ..if you want to own an assault weapon or hand gun then you need to be a member of the NRA and be approved by them.

The NRA will also be compelled to operate safe storage facility for members to house their guns outside of the home. (i suspect they already do alot of this)

If mass murders are committed with these guns then it should be on the head of the licencing authority

Why the NRA in this? because they need to be part of the solution we need to bring them along or nothing will change

  • Hard News: Calling the race before it's over, in reply to Chris Waugh,

I like what Chris Hipkins said.

I hate what he said. less than 24 hours after the party has made clear its desire for a proper democratic process involving them on leadership issues Hipkins comes out and demands to know which way everyone will vote (because whats good enough for cunliffe is good enough for every MP right chris?)

This is the kind of shit people are sick and tired of.

I will say this though at least he put his name to his quote as for the rest of the #abc club they are all content to snipe and snarl from the shadows those are the real ‘finks’ here…

speaking of which.. Robertson and Little dont think we dont know that your actions are all about a play for the leadership after the next election doing a little cutting off at the pass are we?

I’m getting annoyed now ..lucky there is not an election tomorrow because while I support the party their MPs could use a career break

  • Hard News: Why did Stephen die?,

The Greg O'Connor response might be something along the lines of...

"sure the police may have over stepped the line but they had no way of knowing this guy was so fragile...therefore you cannot hold the officers responsible"

To which I say that's precisely why you don't cross the line because when police stick their bloody size 12 shoes in without knowing whats going on there are real consequences and real people get hurt.
