Just for fun, I’ve done a very CGI take on the matter, and here’s a WIP so far. Shall I get some virtual beauties to wear these, or could that open me up to getting sued?
I had no problem with mentally inserting St Richie's image into all four. Thanks to your visualisation, hypnokini's the clear winner. It's the only one with symmetry.

Scratch 'n sniffs were a bit like that. Even the sticker that graced the sleeve of Peter Tosh's Legalise It. While it was presumably supposed to smell like herb, the best noses I submitted it to could only detect printer's ink.

The initial shortlist of 20c piece designs for NZ's first decimal currency. It was only after the designs were leaked that the public was given an input, and James Berry's completely new designs prevailed. While the Francis Shurrock footballer was pretty much universally derided back then, it's not hard to imagine it getting the thumbs up from the likes of Key's flag panel experts

Noooooooooooooo......You might recall the Carl Barks tale where Donald Duck and his nephews accompany Uncle Scrooge to Scotland in search of the McDuck tartan. They find it in the studio of a "modern artist" who blows up and copies details of the fabric to produce Mondrian-like paintings. Naturally he gets exposed as a fraud.

Claiming Serco Is "all too similar" to Corrections is an attempt to put lipstick on the privatisation pig. For all its shortcomings, right now Corrections is proving demonstrably better at running a remand facility.

The disappointing thing about the performance of Serco is that it is all too similar to the work of the Department of Corrections. They were supposed to be better.
Better than what? The overhyping of Serco was all about the private sector doing it better.

I spent entirely too long this evening looking up what colour election orange was. I am, for the record, now using #f89828 for graphs about the election.
Sounds like one of those food colouring agents that was banned long ago in first-world countries on suspicion of triggering seizures.

While we shouldn't expect denialists and trolls to view climate change through logical eyes any time soon, we're in trouble when governments like our own willingly choose to ignore the in-your-face reality of increasing weather extremes. Because it's those extremes which will ultimately have the most destructive affect on our planet.
In Australia, Flannery's compelling evidence for the historical volatility of this region he terms "Austronesia" has long been treated as shoot-the-messenger heresy by the kind of institutional short memories that see the status quo as being somehow divinely ordained.
When the historical droughts and fire events since white settlement have been portrayed as tragic aberrations, rather than something to be factored in to realistic planning, there seems little hope of any meaningful progress. Perhaps it'll happen once Tony Abbott's squandered his political capital in the kind of burning man event he seems hell-bent on staging....
