I grabbed the Cat Power version off eMusic on Wednesday, along with Satisfaction and a couple of others. Getting used to buying single tracks and not the whole LP.

Now where was I reading about Country Joe recently too? eMusic I think, no albums, but quite a good potted history of the band. Electric Music is on my "records to find at some point" list. The last one to be scratched off that list was Sister Lovers. Having kids is awful for your record buying habits.
I just popped into Marbecks nad they've got four of the reissues in stock at $40 each, unfortunately not the first one though.
I don't even have a CD player at the minute. All my musical jollies come courtesy of the ipod and speaker. At least my LPs are safe though.

Hiya Graham, I pop over to elsewhere occasionally. This week I hunted down your piece on Moby Grape, a fine album. I always liked the opener - Hey Grandma. Unfortunately I only have it on vinyl and my little record player is in storage (we're selling the house). I have hunted for the CD but obviously not hard enough...
The best substitute I found has been Cat Power doing Naked If I Want To on the Covers Album.

however it is probably said in frustration that a journalist could try and explain what he was doing when one of the joys of music is the personal interpretation you make of it.
My point was in response to the original question whether posting a clip was laziness. Some would feel more comfortable posting a clip than writing a gushing post and feeling that have failed to make their case as strongly in words as they felt at the time.
Radio Sport has a lot of ads for best of CDs etc (when they're not advertising erectile disfunction or brothels) and they constantly refer to One of the Greatest American Band of All Time. It's a stretch referring to the Doors, but to America it is ludicrous - hyperbole like that brings everybody down.

But it's a lot easier to upload a short clip of Rage Against The Machine being awesome at the Big Day Out than it is to describe that experience with words. Is it the lazy way?

I appreciate he's having a go a journalists, but even a tiny film clip is closer to the visceral thrill of a live gig than trying to put that thrill into words can ever be. Unless you're really good...

This has always seemed kind of stupidly obvious to me. On the other hand, I also own an iron with the words 'remove clothing before ironing' emblazoned on the side -- so I guess it's the same principle.
And it goes to show you can't be too careful. I once had a colleague who came to work with a burn on his neck as a result of trying to flatten his collar without removing said clothing. Quite a bright fellow too :)

I think you are being a bit disingenuous (sp?), David. They don't deny your links to the Nats, it is clearly the opinion of KBB & The Standard that your links to the Nats are much deeper than you admit to. In fact, the whole premise of KBB is that you get your political talking points directly from National Party HQ. That's not a charge to answer, but a statement of fact (about the KBB bit I mean), so you don't have to confirm or deny it.
