Looks like the spice is starting to flow now ... Like, which prominent, working media figure forgot to tell us he was providing media training for Brash?

There's a previously unmentioned authorial hand behind the Orewa speech too.

Personally I hope Key - or whomever else takes over - makes a good fist of things. I'd like to be able to see National as a party I could actually vote for instead of the somewhat sinister, reactionary party we currently know and fear.

That's pretty much my view too. I wouldn't be too likely to vote National, but at some point they'll be in government.

  • Bledisloe Haka,

Oh, and thanks for the inside story Rob. That's a fun thing to know.

And David Farrar is on a plane, unable to blog...

blogstipation will set in and cripple him if he's not careful.

Oh God. I can just picture them making a mid-flight announcement ...

I think Key has a real chance of giving Labour hell.

I think so. But I also hope he can craft a National Party I can live with.

Actually, no. If the John Key Fan Club thinks his honeymoon with the media didn't end the moment Brash resigned, they're delusional - just ask Bill English. :)

I gather Key does not suffer too badly in the book. Murray McCully might not be so happy.

Ten or fifteen minutes away ...

When there are 60,000 people heading in the same direction? I think not. I've been to NH Stadium from just south of the bridge a number of times, and I've never done it it 10 minutes. South Aucklanders would be wanting to allow at least an hour on big match days.

Brash to Noelle McCarthy five hours ago: "I don't see any mood for change in caucus."

    Ouch.

Just heard from someone who's seen an advance copy of The Hollow Men. It sounds like the emails aren't the half of it. There's a lot of high-level party correspondence involved, and likely embarrassment for a number of people.
