A Standard Vanguard Phase III shown being assembled
Which is two phases later than the Vanguard Phase I in David Hood’s card player pic upthread.
Also the green car in that pic appears to be a Morris Series E, (aka E-type Morris) with the peculiar rear-opening doors, of which Islander has mixed memories.

I know a couple of Judith Tizard Jokes, but I guess you had to be there.

Definitely occupy. Along with its non-English equivalents it's gained a whole new global meaning.

Thanks again Julie, they really are great pictures, you can feel something of the fun that went into making them. Greytown seems to work like the great leveller, the sublime and the downright silly all end up looking equally cool.

But I cant be bothered voting for one that’s been around so long…
Know what you mean. I really thought that munted had gone the way of the long unlamented choice (tschüss, choice), but it's plodded back from the brink with a sort of clubfooted inevitability.
"I thought it was the yellow jackets that lent a sameness to those EQC types, but maybe there is a certain family muntedness . . ."

there is a photographer in Greytown who has a related series of captures called “cars on main street"
Thank you, something to delight everyone there, plus a few to offend the aesthetic sensibilities :-) Love the grass-covered car.
I don't know whether it's my browser, but it seems the photos deserve a better presentation. The slideshow seems to only work at it's own pace, and the thumbnail index feels a slippery little devil to navigate. -

Although many of Charles's components date from the late 1920s he's registered as a 1967 Charles, so named for the Mr Charles who rebuilt him in his present jeeplike form. Cherished and significantly but subtly upgraded by my brother since the 1970s, Charles even serves as a mobile platform for the stepladder when trimming the macrocarpa hedge that fronts his home.
