Sure is - excellent reporting - not hard to do... getting out into the real world and talking to real people, is it? MSM so angers me - this is what all NZers need to see on the 6 o'clock news as the headline story.

Yes very. I am just so sad at our msm for making the story about Metiria as opposed to the utterly oppressive benefit regime. Benefit abatement was the issue which I suspect few nzers understand. I had no awareness of it at all until I read the Big Kahuna. Neither was I aware that super payments were higher than the unemployment benefit. That is beyond ridiculous. Surely a young adult looking for work needs more food and clothing than a retired adult? We so needed the conversation and particularly in an election year.

Purely speculative on my part but I wonder whether there are more revelations known on the inside that have since come to light and that was a tipping point.

Very sad. I have always had a lot of respect for Kennedy G in his parliamentary comment and work. The new list recruits must find this worrying as well.

Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Gerry Brownlee today illustrated the sensitivity National has over coverage of Jacinda Ardern's elevation to the leadership yesterday.
On his way to Question Time Brownlee shook the hand of Newshub political editor Patrick Gower with an envelope marked "Cheerleader in chief" and inside were two sets of tassles, one red and one blue.
The note from him referred to Gower's "unbridled excitement" yesterday and he was including a blue one "in the hope that one day you may find similar enthusiasm for its use".

I've long felt Jacinda is that person. She oozes compassion, even when (and maybe, mostly) when she's angry.
Yes, she's always been just plain and simply - believable. Her honest, enthusiasm will wipe the floor of Bill in leadership debates. I suspect National's vote will plummet - more NZers than I think anyone can imagine are sick and tired of the 'old boys'.
We have a future back.
