  • Speaker: From Corruption Guard our State,

With Craig on this, BTW. Integrity of the system is what counts.

Nice round up Matthew, thanks. Do you have a link to the source for this quote?:

"Police have not identified any offences in relation to these complaints and will not be taking these matters further."

    Mind you, I like bagpipes.

I think there is an academic case to be made for the superiority of the Scots. But only over their cousins south of the Tweed and it has nothing to do with skin colour or race.

    Calvanism has its place.

Graeme - now you are disseminating. Of course attacking the Greens is not illegal. Just as attacking any party is not illegal.

It was the method of attack.

Just to refresh your tainted memory.

Re-writing history does your cause no favours, that's all I am saying.

    I like that model.

Now all I have to do is find a way to make money out of it.

Step 1 would be to turn comments back on on NRT. Relationships are two way beasts.

  • Speaker: From Corruption Guard our State,

    I tripped over this:

    2. The Campaign by Members of the Exclusive Brethren Church

For the most part, this was perfectly legal

    vs this

    4. Labour's Breach of the Election Spending Cap

These glib "certainties" undermine your case.

At the risk of making a terrible a faux pas and linking away from PA in a self indulgent manner, I blogged about this the other day...

The point I am trying to make is that internet readers are as real as newspaper readers. Treating them as second class citizens is just nuts for media organisations and if journalists like Small don't realise this then their days are surely numbered.

Oh, and sure, give them all more money :-)

  • OnPoint: Name and Snipe,

I have abandoned AMEX. The cut off my credit, twice, during a 6 week business trip in April because I was over my "normal" monthly spend. "Normal" was an arbitrary setting that they failed to inform me about. Had lead to some pretty embarrassing moments. This was despite the fact my business has a perfect payment history with them, that I checked the account online and even made an early payment. They also have a habit of losing cheques.

To add insult to injury they didn't have a 24 hour service number I could call (I was in Europe) and the credit section was based in Aussie. I was asked to fill in a form about the service I received from them during that hiatus. Weeks later I still haven't had a response.

We now use VISA for company credit cards.

    PA vengeance is mine :-)

  • Speaker: Seven Good Reasons,

Also, David Farrar covers the evening. I had forgotten this point from English picked up on:

He said that after reading the book he probably agrees that hope, even more than love, is the most important emotion.

  • Speaker: Seven Good Reasons,

Any chance of a transcript, or slightly longer abstract for those of us who missed it?

Well, he had notes and some quotes from Cohen's book but didn't feel like a written out speech.

He spoke of knowing David Cohen at school. A disruptive force in Bill's life of order and respect. He spoke of fatherhood, of being Minister for Health and being briefed by parents of autistic kids about the mountains they face.

But really it was the tone not the content. As Stephen says:

Who knew that Bill English could speak soulfully and well of the curse of the middle class drive for perfection?
