A spokesman for Ms Hanson said: "They are taking our jobs!"

I mean, this is just feeble from the Dom-Post. They get four quotes: Richard Lewis (Destiny), Gordon Copeland, Bob McCoskrie and the guy from Barnardos. It's like one of those council/corporate PR jobs, where they chuck in one token critical comment just to make it look less like advertising.

Yes, the story had a full day's coverage reinforcing fears, with little attention paid to the details, which were there from the start if anyone bothered to look. Is it too much to ask the media to value information above commentary?

Family First has electoral appeal - Sensible sentencing is lynch mob - what's that other vehicle for self promotion ...For the Sake of our Children.

So is the amended bill not going to be officially revealed now until Monday? Does that mean we get a weekend of leaks, with media coverage and protests about things which may or may not exist? All a bit messy, can't they stay behind after school until it's done?

Kevin, this piece is by Anke Richter, not Russell. She's a guest, exercising free speech, to talk about free speech, so we can exercise free speech in debating her view. I'd have thought you'd be all in favour of this kind of thing.
I freely speak: Californication is rubbish, but I only found this out because I took the trouble to watch it. I won't bother again. I don't even mind Bob getting outraged about it (except that he made me waste an hour last week). I'd just like the MSM to ask for a few details occasionally - like, how many members he represents.
And I note that this particular "Shut It Down" campaign has somehow avoided being labelled "political correctness gone mad". That of course is reserved for the points of view Family First doesn't share.

I know there are very serious issues here, and I do appreciate others taking the time to make long posts that inform and challenge, but shallow that I am, I can't help chortling away to myself ... "Boy, this must really piss off the Herald".

The idea that nutters with bombs, military delusions and a warped view of the world must be stopped before they kill innocent people sounds more like an argument for assassinating George Bush.
Not Key and Clark though (he adds hastily, for any surveilling cops).
