  • OnPoint: Iraq, from the air,

Also, although the invasion may have been unlawful, such a complaint cannot be leveled at the continued presence of US and other forces in 2007, which by then was at the invitation of the Iraqi Government.

War of aggression was described by the Nuremberg Tribunal as the supreme international crime because it "contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." They were talking about massacres like these. Not only is the occupation a fait accompli but these rednecks flying around in helicopters just shouldn't be there in the first place.

Aggressive wars. Subsequent occupations. And massacres like these with their obligatory coverups. Then liberal apologists like Keith.

Is it any wonder people want to fly planes into their buildings?

"and the absence of any means for a fairer distribution of wealth"

Personally I'd prefer to have a go at a different economy (parecon) but in your opening paragraph you point out one of the very best ways to distribute wealth more fairly in a capitalist economy: high minimum wages.

Helps with that society thing too: http://www.equalitytrust.org.uk/

High minimum wages. It's the new black.

  • Hard News: Footnotes,

Martin van Beynen asks us, who did it, David or Robin? He doesn't seem to entertain the idea that an answer to that question is unattainable.

One gets the feeling that Martin van Beynen would rather dispense with principle of reasonable doubt.

  • Hard News: A news site where you can…,

Can't believe they've used Flash. Who advises these people?

Not that it matters to me. I get a message saying "This is video is for New Zealand viewers only." I still consider myself a New Zealander but there you go.

  • Hard News: Speaking Freely,

I use an EyeTV Diversity in Britain to watch Freeview. No HD yet. Elgato, who make EyeTV, are the best company I've dealt with in the UK, although it turns out they're not British but German, so no surpise there.

What makes the EyeTV shine is the software. Paired with 24" iMac it's second to none and can even stream recorded TV to my iPhone, which is handy in bed. Especially good for blogging clips from TV too, with a bit of help from QT Pro..

  • Hard News: Inimical to the public good,

I find it a bit comical that politicians seriously discuss ideas like these while simultaneously purporting to be democratic representatives.

  • Cracker: Mr Transparent,

If voters vote National without paying attention to policy, simply because they want change, then they'll get a democracy they deserve, much like U.S. voters.
