Happy birthdat Russell. I’m a year behind you in age, but everything you wrote resonated with me (started Uni in 81).
All the best as you ease back into the workforce!

BTW, that guy is in the chair welcoming folk for every game (ABs/Blues/Auckland etc.)

Yes, Vector has issues, but my bigger concern was CDEM Auckland's response (or lack of it). I cannot understand why the Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) was not fully activated prior to the storm hitting. The impact of the storm had been predicted and a major weather event is rated the most probable "disaster" event for Auckland for any organisation that has a BCP/DR plan, based on CDEM's Auckland risk register.
So why was the EEC not stood up prior? It took well over 12 more hours after the major power cuts hit for CDEM Auckland to put out anything on the Red Cross Hazard App. (And one tweet 2.5 hours after the power cuts)
So while there are real issues around infrastructure resiliency, the leadership of CDEM Auckland, responsible for 1/3 of NZ's population, needs a close inspection.

I got a little of the insight when watching Julius Caesar at the Pop Up Globe. It was confronting as a guy to see men consigned to bit parts and *clearly* dressed as property (sack cloth and shackles). I stood there thinking "this is what it is like for women watching most MSM TV/Movies etc."!!!!
So analogies are important to help shift frames of reference!

Quick question Russell - I presume you are turning off our Paypal payments?

Thank you.

From my perspective the accommodation supplement must surely be part of fuelling the increase in property prices. Why would I not invest in property when I know the tax payer is going to effectively guarantee a return to me?
What would happen if all that accomodation supplement money was redirected into affordable social housing where your rent was going to be 1/3rd of your income?

The Auckland Council GIS viewer was the regional viewer delivered prior to the Auckland Council formation. All the councils in Auckland contributed, with the ARC being the lead.
