    @Dinah Dunavan

    You are correct that the tower you show is also an XT Network tower. This means that if you can see it from your house you will have very good XT Network dataspeeds and call quality.

    Q: I want to know if the incredible engineers who designed the network will get a big bonus for working 60+ hours a week, every week for the last two years?
    A: Yes, these guys and girls are going to get a huge financial bonus as well as an executive dinner and TV appearances.

    @belt I was personally happy to see this question asked and answered so in my opinion the ffunnell exercise was a success.

    Not sure where you got the idea that anyone was happy with the delayed launch.

  • Speaker: The Telecom XT Discussion,

    It's the newbie Telecom reps who need to take that extra step and give us a bit of background behind their posts.

    Sorry Robyn. My excuse is that I'm a noob to grownup forums such as PA :)

    There's a belief doing the rounds that 850MHz is somehow technically superior to 900MHz. This is on a par with suggesting that 99FM is somehow superior to 95BFM.

    I agree with @Paul on this point. The differences in radio characteristics of WCDMA900MHz and WCDMA850MHz are negligable. We both need to talk to our sales people about this sort of misrepresentation.

  • Speaker: The Telecom XT Discussion,

    Can somebody explain how Woosh can provide a broadband service over WCDMA and UMTS (all be it patchy due to the low number of cell sites) that is very competitive to land-line based offerings, when the big players Voda & Telecom charge like wounded bulls for the same tech.

    The technology used by Whoosh is very different from the technology used by TNZ & VFNZ.
    Part of the reason is that the technology to deliver Mobile serivice is more expensive that the technology to provide staionary services.
