Thanks for those listings. Will have to break the habit of a lifetime and buy the TV Guide, I suppose. I need hard copy!!

Great to see that TVNZ7 is now on Sky (Channel 97). Must have happened while we were overseas. Will be watching on Wednesday night.
Incidentally, does anyone publish the listings for TVNZ 6 and 7. Darned if I've been able to find them anywhere.
I feel a campaign to the Listener coming on.

"So I do think that Whittaker's has a point in its attack advertising against Cadbury, even if its marketing director Philip Poole should never be allowed on Close Up again without some media training"
Couldn't agree more about the training. But I wouldn't automatically assume that the complaint was generated by the opposition. Nothing attracts free publicity like a complaint to the ASCB, and it's not unknown for companies to engineer them.
It's Linz for us - but Schoc sounds fairly amazing. With a long black and a brandy, please.

I'm going to vote "yes" - as I see it if the bastards don't lose we'll never hear the end of them
They won't lose, unfortunately, because they're the ones with the desire for action, so they're motivated. The more people who vote "yes" to this asinine question, the less crowing they'll be able to do after the event. Let's hope that apathy doesn't rule on this one.

Just staggered in exhausted from three days away. Drug of choice: MySky and OF . Aaaaahhhh!
How do we cope between series without these bogans? They keep me sane.
PS - Russell, you're being far too nice to everyone. Have you found a supply of Loretta's interesting new party drugs?

Excellent news about the Farmers' Market. I'm getting tired of traipsing over to Parnell and paying inflated prices for so-so produce.

This whole thing is getting out of hand. It’s not only the left and right hurling brickbats at the candidates for selection, it’s happening amongst Labour supporters as well. Two of the nominees are coming in for some particularly vicious clobbering. David Shearer is portrayed as a) a major prize for the party, a man of talent and experience and b) a Methuselah-like alien who’s never set foot in Auckland. Meg Bates is either a) a clever political scientist with extraordinary Labour credentials and b) a cotton-wooled bluestocking, barely out of school uniform. In fact both of them would be excellent additions to the Parliament; both of them will almost certainly be there in a couple of years. My concern is that the vicious invective, particularly from the blogs, will sicken both of them to the extent that they wash their hands of practical politics and head back to their very successful careers. That would be a loss, and not only to the Labour Party.

Dunleavey argues that our mid-70s of two state channels running independently, one Wellington-centric, one Auckland-centric, might well have been the golden age of NZ television.
Philip, I'm inclined to agree. This is my memory, and Trish talked to many other people who were around at the time. TVNZ had a drama department, which had a fair budget and a degree of autonomy. It was run by experienced, mature people, who made the decisions, cared about the wider audience and didn't worry about ratings. That's how we got The Governor and other quality dramas which now would have trouble making it past commissioning editors, because they wouldn't be seen as an instant winner with the 18-45 age group.
And don't get me started on Muldoon's bullying...

Are you in Ep 1?
Can't spot my starring nano-second in this ep, and it's so long ago I can't remember which one it was. But there a good number of familiar (and very young) faces in there. NZ politicians had kittens that TVNZ was making a series that cost A Million Dollars
