Craig Ranapia:
Fair enough.
But due to Russells comment ,as I am not willing to take someone elses word on everything, I went and viewed it. Net effect is the content was viewed, may as well have been linked to. Lazily I get my current affairs from very few sources and would prefer it complete.
Cheers for the link Russell. I hated it. -
I don't quite agree with you giving your review without having the link to the video. While I trust your judgement and you have undoubtably saved me from wasting my time in view such shite, I would think either review and link to it, or, don't review at all.
I think your audience is mature enough to form their own opinion. Sometimes we have to take the good with the bad to be well rounded and well informed.
I appreciate your stand of course but would have liked the option to choose. I also appreciate that you didmn't have the option to choose if someone else linked to it...but that is blogging for ya. -
And.....boom shuker
I am not about to disect Rick Shera's figures, mainly because I don't really give a toss. Maybe Rick can be allowed to get back to running the charity and continue to do something while the rest of us sit back and pat ourselves on the back for donating $20.
It is being called to account all the time that makes our government agencies so inefficient and creates a need for organisations like kids can. Lets not send them down the same path.I would guess ( no figures to back it up, just rambling) that no government depart deliveries that sort of service ratio for it's funding.

May be a bit off topic as it seems ultimately most involved will be only interested in what they will financially receive or lose, but the main risk of having any ownership or control, or words to that effect, to any one group, allows those without knowledge of the entire legislation to act on those words only and restrict access. This won't of course happen at any of your well populated beaches but will happen in remote coastal areas. Similar to the issues hunters face in Urawera's.
example: I and others like to surf at the Motu river mouth in the east cape but local Moari will no longer allow surfing there. I could go into detail as to why but bottom line is access is restricted and it is to far from anywhere to get police intervention ( nor I guess would they want to intervene).
I don't care if the government spends my taxes on righting the wrongs of the past but can everyone just agree so we can all be happy and I can go to the beach. It's a beautiful day outside. -
With any luck the diversity in Auckland will be the one saving grace from having Banksie rise to the position of super mayor. Time will show if the voting is as diverse as we may claim to be.
In even mentioning his name I perpetuate the media bias to him being the only option.
Good luck Wankland, good luck NZ.
(Before you take offense, I like Auckland.) -
Back to the children. My daughter 2 1/2 years at the time and able to sing the national anthem word for word...(says a little less about her and more about my dogged determination for my child to have a party trick)... attended a game dressed in princess outfit and purple feather boa. She danced to the music and cheered for the cheer leaders, only to cower into my shoulder at the roar of the crowd during the game. She wants to return to the rugby, if only for everything that makes for a great day and isn't actually rugby.
We have to get the children to the game to create great supporters. This means daytime matches. There are too many other things they would rather watch on the telly.
As rugby becomes less a part of our cultural identity, (not a bad thing) I wonder how many fans there will be in ten years time.
