Whole thing is a sham...everyday should be record shopping day, or looking for new music day...that said...I did actually buy a RSD release one year on special at the Book and Record bar in West Norwood long after RSD...it's a limited 45 by Dexter Romweber and Jack White doing a ripping duet on Geeshie Wiley's 1930 classic "Last Kind Word Blues" and it fucking rocks....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M2mZxa2UYE

Bill Drummond's autobiography "45" is a fantastic read...probably the best book about the music industry I have read in decades. He's not too fond of the Fourth Estate, neither am I,but he sure know how to manipulate them ...was a pleasure to be a small part in helping him along in a career that many others would dream of having....

I like the way they only have a handful of major label acts on the card, it's what makes it one of the best festivals in the world to attend. This will be my second year and if you like the electronic stuff, which I love Sonar follows it about a week later and the lineup there is a cracker.... https://sonar.es/en/2018/artists .....of course the Sonar lineup is just the official stuff the Off Sonar parties are off the hook and everyone you can imagine will be putting on a show...except Peking Duk....

NZ Festivals...meh....nothing worse than dropping nearly $200 for a ticket, only to be confronted by an hour long wait to get a drink, overly aggressive security, a bunch of kiwi acts from the past and on the whole badly trained staff.Poorly curated and over regulated best describes any "festival" in this country.Last year I was at Primavera and Sonar in Barcelona....your better off saving a few bucks and skipping the bad taste that gets left in your mouth attending one of "NZ's best festivals" and heading to Barcelona at the beginning of June...
