I've never heard of any of the people involved until half an hour ago, but three points: (1) the "Norman Bates" line was the kind of thing that I would consider clever "snark" if I read it in an online review or blog comment rather than on live TV; (2) "crackheads"? "meth"? In my experience that IS how people who're not on addictive psychoactives actually behave... when they assume that the object of their wrath can't hear them.
