Interesting comments about startup costs for new charities.
If I'm reading it correctly, 25% went to the specific KidsCan programmes in 2006, 24% in 2007, and 19% in 2008?

Hilary, in their financial statement they list the Dancing with the Stars donation as $22,576.

Hi Rick,
Here's some questions I have:
Who initiated this year's Telethon?* KidsCan or TV3?
"87% of costs for running Telethon were covered thru corporate sponsorship cash & in-kind. A small amount of $ will be used 4 running costs." - @TelethonNZ
How much of the $1944225 will go to KidsCan? I.e. is some of this held back for running costs? (13% = $253,000?)
How much of the money raised for KidsCan will go on the actual programmes vs other charity expenses? Will it be 19% as per the last financial year?
What was the cost to build the Big Night In website and was this paid for by Kids Can or TV3?
Many thanks,
Rachel -
I was at the launch and your source is correct: he did say "chip" paper, not "s***" paper. She can't have been listening well, because he repeated the wrapping up in chips line a couple of times.
The comments about Ms Bowron were rude *but* they should never have been front page news fodder.
I've blogged about it over on Throng

Inspiring weekend! I blogged briefly about it on my blog but plan on blogging about it some more when I recover.

Thanks Russell, hadn't heard of the infra-red solution, will look into that.

Thanks Fiona for the link up.
Matthew, do the people running TiVos locally have to manually switch Sky channels on their boxes in order to record the different shows? That's the most frustrating thought of buying a PVR - oh and the EPG problem.
