Hard News: Trump's Dummkopfs, in reply to
If the next Edwin Walker is out there, surely Trump would be the one to embolden him.
Scratch that itch and we get a Lee Harvey Oswald as well...

(nor does the airline know they are in the airport)
Yeah, I'd always thought a big part of the check-in process was so the airline knew the passenger was actually in the building, and able to board the plane.
It seems to me that 'checking in' before getting to the airport could create more problems than it solves, logistically.... -

Just read a book on Bauhaus by David J (Haskins) called Who Killed Mr Moonlight from specialist music publishers Jawbone Press - an interesting read, still not sure on Murphy's orientation - but a fine insight into how bands can be dangerous chemistry sets (and I never like people who boast about stealing library books!) - could have done with a better proofreader - but I am assured that the second edition has rectified the most egregious errors. -
The insecurity business...
I note that the new kid on the block has hit the wall

Chuffed with the way Mr Direen has ended up with little red devilly horns on his head in that top pic
That is a damn fine pic - capturing Mr D brilliantly - playing out of his skin - the second shot nicely shows The Adjustment Bureau at work... I'm sure no two people will remember this gig in the same way...

I am the egg man...
While Endace is a private company, they’ve developed their products with $11.1m of government funding courtesy of Callaghan Innovation.
I note that Endace itself is owned by the two principals through another company the creepily named Echidna (not Echnida as the TVNZ story has it) - an Australian egg-laying mammal that sucks up ants!
...a creature from Greek mythology who was half-woman, half-snake, as the animal was perceived to have qualities of both mammals and reptiles.
In fact they are shortchanging themselves if they were trying to cash in the bio-mimicry aspect - they shoulda called themselves Platypus
Like the platypus, they (echidna) are equipped with electrosensors, but while the platypus has 40,000 electroreceptors on its bill, the long-billed echidna has only 2,000 electroreceptors
The NBR has a piece on the ownership saga of Endace here:
https://www.nbr.co.nz/opinion/funding-issues-spotlight-endaces-new-owner-cuts-100-jobs-ck-p
and a later one here:
https://www.nbr.co.nz/article/endace-shed-jobs-under-new-owner-avago-risks-having-government-grants-clawed-back-b-179094
It seems when Avago was buying out / merging with Broadcom in 2015 there was an Endace management buyout bringing the company back into NZ ownership.Ironic that Fabian backer and 'serial entrepreneur' Selwyn Pellett was founding CEO of Endace, and also lead the chase for the $11+million R&D funds repayment when it was sold offshore - he and Joyce had a twitter-spat over it, I believe.
It's a funny old world...
