And to the original post - yes to the criticism of the news - it's appalling on both channels, to the point where if I can I'm either going to start watching Prime at 5.30 (at least it's only 1/2 hour) or just leaving it to the internet.
ABC Australia News at 5pm daily on Triangle is not bad for international news and as a bonus, they don't talk to you like you're a ten year old.

Capitalism at least doesn't pretend to be about equality of man or any of that other nonsense, it's all about accumulation of money.
Yeah, but - and 'scuse me for teaching my grandmother to suck eggs - it relies on endless growth in a finite environment. This is impossible, but society in general is happy to live in a state of self-deception about it, or at least tacitly says to itself, "Well, let's just ride this out as long as we can then".
Frankly, I really don't like our chances.

Come on, guys. These devices which last a decade don't exactly help much with economic growth, do they? <sarc>

I feel bound now to point out that I hadn't personally bought a new Apple product for two years before last week's purchase.
You sound like an alchoholic. ;)

I thought it was 'being nice to your kids will make them hetero'.

Rosie,
Overall, I'd recommend getting some advocacy help, as mentioned above, if you feel you need it.That said, don't worry too much about dealing with WINZ (that in itself will make you sick). Mostly, the people there are pretty fair. If you strike a bad one, you can always insist on seeing the manager to get it resolved.
Consider checking the WINZ website and reading up on the different allowances, etc., to see what you are eligible for. You can't necessarily rely on them telling you (for instance, ongoing medical expenses - if any - should be covered).
Good luck.

The clean stadiums commitment was made in 2005, two years before Snedden was even appointed.
In fact - correct me if I'm wrong - it was NZ's initial inability to make that committment that caused us to actually lose hosting rights last time.

Much as I hate to bring up the Scottish topic, the Herald has a pretty strange idea of giving credit where due.
Vid-poster WhaleOil writes on the YouTube page, "Not my video, saw on Facebook..." NZH notes the name of the guy who shot the one-take video, calling it "footage of Andrew Chapman" but credits it - you guessed it - ""Courtesy YouTube/WhaleOil". Huh?

Sportsmanship is a layer we place over sport to make it less ruthless.
Sorry, but that's rubbish.
That said, I can't see what the problem is with Contador. What was he supposed to do; sacrifice some of his lead from the other hundred guys behind him?
