Best test of the summer I reckon.
But:
You know who enjoyed the game? Garth George. How can you defend that test cricket fans?
is almost enough to put you off the sport entirely.

Also in real life it seems much faster and tougher
I reckon. The rink also looks much smaller in the video.
Going to the cricket this weekend Haydn? Anyone else?

Video of the bout (#2 I believe) now online, after some post-processing...
Nice stuff. (Though I think you mean "jam #2".) Some good action photos as well. Loved the shot of Suffer Jet finding herself in the clear after a double fall in the pack (photo #3) and of the dueling jammers (#11).
I'm sure I saw some video cameras at the other end of the hall. Hopefully we'll get some more video footage.

I would love to, but am scared.
I was scared just sitting in the front row watching.

I'm going to be attending the inaugural Wellington Richter City Roller Derby this Saturday.
Looking forward to your report Haydn.
I thought the bout was absolutely frickin' awesome! It was great fun and really exciting, and not too difficult to get into once you watched a couple of jams.
Go Brutal Pageant!

When I asked at a hotel in Udaipur, India when taking a room whether the sheets were clean I was told "Don't worry, they haven't been used by an Indian."

You're just saying that because he wears glasses
There is nothing more nerdy in cricket than being a good orthodox spinner.
He's also a library lover:

I must say, I'm struck by how weird and difficult Microsoft makes it.
I've just been given the brush off by MS support: "It's not that we don't want to help you, but..."
Turns out the application I have been using for the last 7 years is now something else, but apparently I've got something different again installed. So the so-called "Windows Genuine Advantage" isn't happy.

a minister who still seems to regard ministerial office as something like a fiefdom
Welcome to the Brotherhood.

If I were to organise some kind of get-together* for the PAS readers in Wellington on the Saturday of the India/NZ test match, how many people would want to show up?
I'd be keen.
