I believe there is also a trend towards higher insurance deductibles (excess) in the US. High deductible plans come with a tax advantaged savings account attached to help you save for upcoming costs.
So even if you have "employer provided" health insurance, you're still on the hook for a few thousand dollars before it kicks in. It really is more like the traditional model of insurance - there for big emergencies only.

Labour and Tory voters would say that, yes.
Replacing FPP is "like getting turkeys to vote for Christmas".

They have a majority (331).
Yamis that's a good point. So every second election is more of a "mid term"..

Boris Johnson seems like a shoo-in for tory leadership. If he waits until 2020, labour will have to wait until 2025 for the next chance. Boris is catnip for voters.
If the average MP age is still over 50, current opposition MPs face the prospect of never being in power.

Yes, one of the few things they actually delivered. That it was cynically subverted by the other two parties is another matter.
Anyway, polls have just closed. Let the crisis begin!

In NZ? It's fairly interesting actually - wikipedia has a decent summary:

My green vote was cast by post last week. Low effort seems appropriate for a wasted fptp vote.

In the 2012 referendum, 2/3 voted against electoral reform, but here we are. Trying to have a mmp election under fptp is a good take.
