I used to get a bit of stick at work for not participating in karakia or powhiri. My excuse was "it's not culturally appropriate for me to mouth religious or cultural views that I don't share" and I still stand by that. When I was learning Te Reo, I had a friendly disagreement with the tutor about the karakia at the beginning and end of the lesson, once I had learned enough to figure out what we were saying. Mind you, this is the same tutor who said, when I asked him how to say "thank you" in Te Reo, "Oh, two dollars will do". When you think about how koha works, I'm not sure he was joking...

Apparently, Bale was in the middle of a scene showing how insanity ran in the Connors bloodline and so his reaction was half-Bale and half-Crazy_John_Connors". That's the problem with a lot of method-acting "live the role" training - it can deliver good results but it's very hard to switch off between takes.
I've seen flip-outs like that (Hell, I've probably delivered flip-outs like that!) and the person most embarrassed by the whole thing is the flipper-outer. That said, it often clears the air and everyone moves forward. I hold a personal theory that actors are by definition a little psychotic as we spend our time being other people and demanding applause from those around us. So this sort of eruption is inevitable now and again.
My advice would be, if you're a shrinking violet-type, avoid a career in the arts ;-)

I meant to say that both film-making and theatre are team activities. And Hurlbut wasn't taking the team line.

I also care about the DP. Some are masters of the art and have more influence on the film than the director. But a DP I dislike won't stop me going to a film, unless I really dislike the way they light stuff (some of them are so into noir you can't see wtf is going on).
Having said that, as an actor and as a lighting designer/rigger/operator, you don't mess with gear during a take, or even a rehearsal. It's incredibly unprofessional.
There are those who think that actors are merely oversized and overpaid meat-puppets parroting someone else's lines (and, admittedly, some are) but good acting (the sort you don't actually notice because it's so good) is bloody hard work. So, when you're out there sweating blood to get the nuances of the script across to the audience, or to the camera, the last thing you need is someone rattling their chip packet, having their cellphone ring or changing the lights, distracting you. Even the best of us are prone to notice things like that and, while you can use it to judge the impact you're actually having on an audience, you have to pull out even more effort to ignore it and carry on.
From all that I've read, Hurlbut was a putz and deserved a good reaming. It should have come from the director, but I can understand why Bale did it.

Having not seen the show, are APRA supporting 92A and the disconnections, or are they proposing a scheme whereby the users downloading material, are billed by their ISPs for downloads so they can distribute the money to their artists?
APRA have publicly supported s92a and disconnections.

I am somewhat tempted to actually get them all in a room and not let them leave until they talk to each other.

It's too late to "suggest a proof of ownership part to a complaint". The law is already there, and it doesn't require this.
And, in fact, the Select Committee did discuss this exact point which is part of why they took s92 out of the Bill, but Tizard put it back through an SOP.
It seems like you live in a parallel universe. You don't seem to know:

And this would be the industry that more people are trying to get into every year, and that boasted record profits last year.

This will cost our clients more money but at least it removes the liability and risk that has been placed on us.
You might want to check some of those overseas prices, Don. NZ webhosting appears to be among the most expensive in the western world. ;-)
