Lets take a leaf out of Question Time as well, and plant patsy questioners. I just hope someone has the moral courage to ask the all time greatest patsy question of all:
Everybody loves you, why are you so great?

Well whether or not its morally ambiguous or not the timing will add significantly to Field's case for martyrdom.
Oh and Brian, if NZ really was a Christian based nation why do politicians feel necessary to downplay or ignore their Christianity in the public arena? Perhaps it is because they know the electorate/nation won't have a bar of it?If I was a little more unhinged I'd almost think that Tamaki had been created by atheist/secularists to mobilise secular forces in NZ. His cartoonish statements and press releases seem to point that way at least.

If the alleged corruption is small scale or at least morally ambiguous and this goes to court it risks making Field into a martyr of sorts, sort of what happened to Pauline Hanson a couple of years back I believe.

Wow, he really seems to be getting into this Elder Statesman thing.
Might I ask what the New Zealand Centre actually does? Please don't tell me they have "NZ studies".

Ugh, I spent 2.-2.5 hours a day on school buses (hooray for centralisation of schools into the rural towns) until I turned 15 and could take one of the cars. Not that it was my idea, my parents made me get my license.
However I've learnt a lot from this thread, and it seems we are all united in thinking that 1) teenagers are more irresponsible if living in a major urban area, 2) rural employment for youth is important and 3) broad brush strokes remedies cause more trouble than they solve.
So, in light of that I propose a compulsory registration of all teenagers, as either R(ural) or U(rban). If one has a R endorsement they are treated as a mini adult from age 15, with all the rights and responsibilities thereof. If one has an U endorsement then one is legally a child till 18, and must be dropped off at school by mother

I think that's because a huge amount of their inspiration and material is coming from bloggers. Just a feeling, no evidence for that.
I agree, I've seen a few items in NZ papers this last 18 months or so that seem to have taken their direction from blogs, this one included

Congrats to you all.

It could all be moot if the plan is gutted in 15 months, assuming National can get a governing coalition. This may just become another left/right "lets change it radically everytime we get power" situation like employment or ACC.

Well if the religious get their Falwells, Roberts, Sharptons and Bin ladens then I'll take and enjoy my Hitchens.

Oh now that is smooth, I wish I hadn't automatically blocked it (self defence measure)
