talking victims out of bringing hard-to-win cases in order to avoid the district’s numbers looking bad?
That’s it I reckon for the general run of cases. In this instance I’m not so sure.
Utter moral failure of the police: absolutely. A reflection of the same society where young men are posting this stuff on Facebook for years and no-one – parents, employers, friends – does anything to stop their criminal behaviour.

JT and Willie, Paul Henry: it's depressing eh. No generosity of spirit or aroha evident anywhere around those three. I wasn't a great Paul Holmes fan -- more neutral -- but the man could be amazingly kind and "human" on-screen. Henry's a total turn-off for me: no way I'll watch him last thing at night.

What more does it take to gain the police's interest? Is this a country-wide police culture:that rape complaints involving young pissed/drugged people is too hard, not worth spending the time on?
Those people are meant to be protecting us and our kids.Fuck.
