Now they just need to speed up the comment moderation..
They need to speed up the LHaws moderation.
Would someone please take his platform away? He is doing no one anything but harm. Including himself. If it wasn't so blindingly obvious, for anyone who can read, how stressful this must be for Arie, his family and now Marilynn McLachlan and hers, it would almost be funny.
He is self-destructing. I predict YouTube clips any moment.
As Sacha points out, there are standards, both in broadcasting and in human decency. Who is going to uphold them?

Should make up for all those bourgewah discussions about coffee, comrade :)
Did someone say iPhone coffee? There's an app, or two, for that.
ETA: "Next time Android Coffee Apps". Pfft.

(I deny both accusations, of course. But then I would, wouldn't I).
I think if one has that sort of power, one should wield it with impunity.
It must be days since anyone posted the 'I'm not here to make friends' clip. Days and days.
Of course that is in relation to that other stuff, cause we're all friends here, OFAIK.

ETA: Following through the links (learning), the actual MIT Nuclear department has reviewed and revised the post.

Has this been posted here yet? Turns out 'MIT Scientist' is in the same category as 'leading expert' and 'unqualified opinion'. At least I wasn't the first to link to it.
Perhaps Thawte could do an electronic certificate system to show when someone claiming expertise actually has any.

P.S. What's a "graffiti prevention advisor"?
Sounds pretty bloody self-appointed, if you ask me.Think they are very much self appointed. We had one badgering us to paint over a tag outside our work. Admittedly for free, but there was a point at which the line between community spirited service and judgemental stand over tactics became a bit blurry. We did let them paint the wall in the end, as it wasn't at all picturesque, but could see how they might just paint first and ask questions later in other circumstances.

Article this morning show radiation up to 400,000 microservets around one reactor measured yesterday. This report also has small, but somewhat scary, chart of levels at which serious risk to human health and life could be expected.
Radiation hazard detected / Massive leak feared after fire at spent nuclear fuel pool.

I generally don’t both any more.
I find one is generally ample.

One wonders whether we would have lost the America’s Cup if it weren’t for Ms Gracewood and the rest of her ‘comrades’ at Public Address. Slovenly English has always been the enemy of athletic prowess, as it is of good singing articulation, and of healthy bowels.
That really is gold.
