I think radiohead have lost patience with the business of marketing and selling albums, and I understand bands make most of their money through touring anyway.
Have to say I just don't get LCD Soundsystem. What's to like?
Here's a fascinating glimpse into what the current neo-conservative viewpoint is on the prospects of an attack on Iran - presumably this way of thinking has at least some currency within the administration.

That's weird. When my family brought its first stereo with a CD player (1988 I think), the salesperson left Brothers in Arms on CD in the CD player accidentally, and we kept it.
Maybe it's the only way they could offload that CD?
Frighteningly enough, much of white middle class New Zealand bought CD players in the 80's so they could listen to Brothers in Arms - only the superior technology of the future could do justice to Knopflers masterpiece.

3 once again the victims are again being run through the wringer, and the alleged offender is apparently getting daddy to call in the lawyers.
I look forward to your spirited defense of Ian Wishart when he starts running stories about the children of Labour and Green Party MP's.

btw, if Zaoui needs more volunteers for his 'sleepy cell' - I'm there. I now realise I've been training all my life for such a mission.

This one is calling for ethnic clensing...
I'd be more shocked if you linked to a kiwiblog thread that didn't contain a call for genocide.

Recently it seems to me that TVNZ doesn't really have a nightly news show any more, just a slot at 6 PM that might cover the odd current event in between saturation level America's Cup/Rugby World Cup coverage.

word about the internet is that things in Iran might be changing sometime soon.
Gee, I hope they have enough rose petals and ballot boxes.

And why is someone betting billions of dollars on world stock markets tanking just before September 21? Is that when the US bombs Iran? Is there another terrorist attack looming? Or is this just a random manifestation of market chaos?
That seems a little early to me - the Administration needs to wait until after Labor Day to roll out its marketing campaign, then give Iran some ultimatum that they have to comply with to prevent being attacked, then pretend to be 'exhausting all other possibilities' before they send in the stealth bombers. I don't think they'll attack Iran until mid-October.

The Salon review makes it quite clear that a great many people are thinking about the same issues, in greater depth and in a far more nuanced and open way than he is.
Oh, all those Nobel prize-winners are just scare-mongering to get more research grants.
