It freaked me out a bit.
It might be (symptomatic of) a bit more than the usual expression of teenage tribal loyalties.

The impression persists that what alarmed the authorities was less any failure of taste than the prospect of people getting too used to the idea of voting and getting what they vote for.
And people trash reality TV. Maybe the UN could send Julie Christie to Burma.

"What are you doing to your son, Mr English, that might have influenced him to think that way?"
He's got five sons, one's an idiot. That's a pretty good success rate considering we're talking about boys.
GayNZ have made the story about Bill English which I'm not that comfortable with. Expecting a public denunciation of his son slips over the line. You'd expect Bill to have a few private words with his son but I don't think we should expect to know all the grisly details.

90210, funny. They took ma money.

I tried Amazon but it seems to be restricted to US customers. How did you get it to work?
Teenagers are barbarians. And rude things get written on the internet. I'm not sure if the issue of the guy being Bill English's son poses a moral dilemma or not. There's enough of those around as it is.

damn, missed the obvious joke about there being another reason to keep an eye on France.

And for people interested in re-litigating the economic shifts of the 80's, keep an eye on France. Sarkozy is about to do a Roger Douglas. Maybe having learned some lessons from places like NZ.

The naivety of various Labour and National govts over privatisation did pour money into some pockets that were as deep as they were undeserving but that doesn't mean that the privatisation being suggested now should be treated as economic heresy.
I'd need to see detailed argument on a case by case basis to make any decision one way or the other but it's only to be expected that the centre-right should propose more privatisation, if only to prod the centre-left into justifying govt involvement in business.

I've been more than a bit depressed about Auckland ever since the waterfront stadium debacle. One more missed opportunity to make the most of what we have.
Looking around at the potential Mayoral candidates I'd be quite prepared for Clark to rule by executive fiat from Wellington. No doubt she’ll be off to the UN when her current employment expires but we could sure do with someone intelligent who can get things done.

We use a car because it saves time but we make up for it by using public transport when ever we fly.
