    Thanks Sofie

Why WH you are mostest welcome. I was actually trying to agree with everyone without sounding ignorant because I know it is many things, and there you were lurking for I don't know how many pages but all in all what you wrote was beautifully put. I work with someone very experienced with this field, and often tells me I am a bit fatalisticish but an underlying wish to understand and "do the right thing" I know is what drives her and she is brilliant. It is all very fascinating to me and I am priviledged to be privy to her studies. One of the first things I learnt was the difference with pacific island people. The supermarkets cater differently in different areas and predetermine what is affordable or available in certain areas but at the same time will power could solve that so it goes round and round and round so c'est la vie!

    "The sky is blue!"
    "Yeah, but grass is green!"
    "No, the SKY is BLUE!"
"God damn it, GRASS IS GREEN!!"
    "BLUE! BLUE, I TELL YOU!"
"GREEN! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!"

I think I've got the hang of this - can I play, too?

    LOL

  • OnPoint: Being a dick about Earth Hour,

People affected report being able to see the flickering of a 60Hz lamp, which I imagine would be irritating at the least.

So it's a neurological issue, but a different flavour to yours..

Also, for another flavour, I found whilst on chemo, I had difficulty seeing cobolt blue and white together, especially stripes. most spacey. It is better now i'm off it though. It really is fascinating but annoying.

  • OnPoint: Being a dick about Earth Hour,

Should say, frequency is important to my neurological pathways.Otherwise I'm fucked in the head :)

  • OnPoint: Being a dick about Earth Hour,

    I'm aware of that -

I'd suspect you are talking about Flourescent lighting affecting suffererizerers of epilepsy which does happen. Electricity is 50 cycles per second (60 USA). That's the hmmmmmmmm sound. Older style flouro worked on lower frequency and the new is higher. The new doesn't seem to effect us epileptics (as much at least or not at all)It is certainly recognizable if I walk into that enviroment because I go all funny. My brain does whatever it feels like but I don't consider it bad cos, the things you learn eh?Frequency is important with neurological pathways and electricity is an outside factor. innit :)

    @Ben

I'm not trying to 'treat obesity'. I'm just saying what, at the most basic level, is causing it.

I agree with you there Ben.Also hormone imbalance can and do come into play, and medications can create havoc there but yes, personally when the meds stopped (after tests for PCOS and numerous other stuff)and I changed my diet and with more energy =more exercise, I lost kilos.

But you want to make it an illness, and deny that humans can have willpower and eat better and less.

By establishing why, (via scientific study)a better understanding can help society to overcome what is now considered a major health cost. A healthier society lives longer but does not cost more( which is the elixir that would help all the world) I'm backing away here cos I know the work that is being done helps many but I believe you are right too :)

  • Hard News: Problems,

And yet we would all get on splendidly over a few drinks, where the tone would be easier to figure, the corrections and adjustments would come sooner and the mutual good intent would be more apparent.

Hah, bet not. You'd probably argue about whose got the best Scotch. :)
