    with proof of need.

And would like to stop there but must add that it should be respected just as David did the right thing, that too should be respected. Good on him for questioning his behaviour and good on behalf of posters here expressing dismay. It was truly ignorant on those ol' girls behalf to behave as they did but I do not for one minute expect that they should have known better. We aren't all perfect and just naughty. By old age, we are ignorant if we respond like they did to David. If we explain ourselves ,others can understand and the journey feels good and respectful. the dissing can stop. :)

Someone with chronic fatigue syndrome may at times be able to manage to walk only 50metres before needing to sit down.

Yep, no problem, Tag it dash it, take the space required. Get the paperwork that explains it to everyone else that wants to understand. SORTED! There is plenty of space for parking without taking the only space for the only park designated for those with proof of need.

Did anyone know that cactus make very good deterants of front lawn rubbish, and under windows as deterants for burglars. Have stopped 2 break-ins. Even had a guy knock on the door one night to yell us that he hated the plants in our garden :) I suspected he was still suffering prickles .Heheheheheee

I doubt there was much you could have done differently to achieve a "better" outcome...

Yep, and you'll probably be their conversation for quite some time.

In this part of the world I'd just be happy if they could stop people from txting on a motorbike whilst riding with three children and a dog in the fast lane.

Sofie, you may need to remind your therapist of his homeland's sterling treatment of its own minorities.

Nah, his comparisons are his way of trying to understand the country he, his wife and kids have chosen to call home and the reasons he left China are obvious to him (pollution being one) . I am glad they so far love this country and preferred the last government to the present one.:)

  • Hard News: A voice of reason and authority,

Can I just throw in, my acupuncturist/ deep therapy masseur. every Tuesday talks to me about his homeland and is often comparing it to ours and more often than not lately I am at a loss to exlain why we fail in areas he is trying to understand. Maori and general treatment of them is one area that perplexes him. He has a basic (and I believe valid) understanding that we are a small country and to understand their culture would allow them to have identity and respect that would ground them to their land. His surprise is that the Maori language is not important to us in NZ and that is our culture. In his broken English, ( he speaks several dialect from China) he says simply, NZ is soo small, with our capacity to learn although we are young, we can make changes relatively easy. Also I'd have to say he is really aware of pollution on the planet and wouldn't consider disagreeing about changes needed to help it.
As an aside. watched a fascinating Doc on Einstein and a few scientists before and after him, last night.Amongst all the physicists and chemists, didn't mention Rutherford anywhere, Can I blame Anne Tolley?
