Ethically and politically, of course, it is truly abhorrent.
That's the thing about the second-term Key Government: ethics and the lack of 'em. It's a trader's government: just the right side of the law (mostly) but ethically stinks like the Heathcote in flood.

The section on "Human Rights" is astounding: basically this breaches international human rights law but wtf it has got to be done. Point 63: councils can get facts wrong so if you can't challenge on basis of factual error, that should be adequately justified (not changed but justified)

Fucking hell: worse than I had thought.
Really need a lawyer to analyse this because as an amateur I can see so many flaws in democracy I don't know where to start. It seems to say Cantabrians have no recourse to the rule of law and the same courts that apply in the rest of NZ. Or am I being overly dramatic?

This is a brilliant thread; engaging, personal and slightly voyeuristic. There are not many photos of me since 30, and I like it that way. So to find and post one would be a leap indeed.
