Hard News: And we may never meet again ..., in reply to
Alpine earplugs are the most comfortable and effective ones I've found. And they're not expensive.
Wow, thanks. I can use them for both concerts and while hooning around on my 2-stroke scooter.

More ponies...
and no word from China?
They're behind the Great Wall.

ZTT Poe-mm,.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?Poe
Apologies for the retweet, but it just fit too well in the pun box.

Rega Planar for $25.
Nice. Got mine for nothing, although I had to manufacture a counter weight, which I used for 15 years before replacing the whole tone arm for $265. Glass plate Planar 2. Manual as hell, but love it's sound. Have been a bit of a tin-arse with stereo gear. Bought a stereo cabinet once for $45 off Trademe and it came with Bose 201 Series II speakers. Think they were made in 1987, but sound perfectly fine to me.
Anyway, when it comes to Hi-fi, always good to keep your head on...

or in other words, ta for joining the fun
to Lilith, Recordari and GeoffYou mean joining the pun? I'm still but an imp with training whirls when it comes to the tzitzits you turn. I can but watch and learn.

Mental excise doesn't impose such a toll when followed by the customary cuppa levy-tea... aaah! The tithe that bind...
Your sentence for pun-ish- mental excess is three-ad Jack, minus tariff, plus Deuteronomy. No tussles please. Tzitzit.

Hard News: Still sounds good, in reply to
I may be able to help take one of those off your hands, sir - if it's not spoken for, and with a suitable bribe, naturally.
You got mail. Hopefully.

Here's a brief write-up; I'm looking forward to seeing the full-length hour tonight.
What struck me most about that article from Jools Holland was the 'Adele (305,000 followers)' etc. So, if you're not basically a religion, you're not there yet? Actually, I think Adele is worthy of some of the accolades, but then there's the 'Charlie Sheen (3,803,594 followers)' factor.

Busytown: What was lost, in reply to
OK, maybe Wellington?
Ok, so I only just had the chance to watch that video. Talk about 'Warning!' That's not quite the 'shirts off' for Wellington I remember. Mine was more poets, dealer galleries, Downstage, the NAG and Iconographers, but YMMV.

(Is there a NZ parallel - 'I was, in four and a half years, never a New Zealander; I was immediately an Aucklander'?? OK, maybe Wellington?)
Yes, Wellington. I only lived there for a year 22 years ago, but tend to support Wellington teams and associate with a 'Wellington State of Mind', to continue the analogy.
On the Fundamentalist, I think you might be right. Is this the precursor to a terrorist act, or merely a reflection on the alienation of the individual from the world in which they inhabit? Either way, we have to decide where our sympathies lie, and what that says about 'US'.
