Should no-one be allowed to provide the Minister for Immigration with relevant information with which to make the decision?
Should we assume they don't know how to do their job, cos if so , what the hell are we paying them for?

Because any visa application should look at their policy.If he is in a category undesirable then accordingly it should be addressed by the immigration department. It isn't Charles' department yet.That, was my meaning for not needed.

So he was not needed. His intention may be in the right place but it becomes immediately divisive. I don't think that is helpful or any better.

Personally, I think Chauvel was wrong, I think BDO can do whatever they wanted because they want to please a majority of their paying audience.I do think their point was that whilst aware of the contentious man's lyrics, they thought he had changed his way. Without confirmation of this, they really had to go with their personal feelings.
I think there are heaps of controversial lyrics out there, e.g. Eminem, NWA. I must admit to listening to both those, and considered their lyrics as an education of areas I hadn't been. Jus' sayin' -

The other bit I was slightly worried about was, y'know, page 37.
Can I note that my plan is to do my xmas shopping at this book launch thingy on Dec 2. I am now slightly concerned about the "one handed, stain proof cover but am sure my aunty would appreciate that, so can I get this along with your other gems please at the book launch, otherwise I will have to order now I guess? To know is a good thing but :)

Isn't one of the reasons we get all jiggy on it when NZ wins at Rugby, Football, League, or Cricket, Hockey, and Netball, basically because we are such a small wee country who has produced a team, that size considered has to be an underdog and proof right there that we can do it? The Basketball recently surprised me also. It's these moments that make me proud to be a Kiwi, y'know, that flightless bird.
Whilst in the UK I often had people asking me how big our population was, then how surprised they were that our Rugby could produce the quality of players out of such a small sample. They happily informed me that, "apparently we have the best", to which I replied "why thank you very much. We get to own these players wherever we go. NZ pride. -
