To be fair that price covered a lot of sessions and phone support for life
Which makes me wonder about the method's limitations. For example, it might be overly complex for someone with a cognitive disability. Having done the parental mercy dash to school camp with forgotten medication more than once in the past, the idea of a replacement technique sounds great in theory.

Teach a person to manage or tune their breathing
and they've a tool always on hand to use...
perhaps not in all situations or for all people, but...Perhaps there's something inherent in the Buteyko technique that prevents it being made widely available at minimal cost, much as the Hollows foundation has done with eye surgery. As long as there's a significant financial barrier, the teach a man to fish analogy seems a bit of a stretch.

I paid several hundred dollars for the course($300-$500? I forget?) about 18 or 20 years ago… While it seemed expensive at the time, I think I’ve reaped enough benefit that I don’t begrudge it… but I’m not sure I would “recommend” it…
Thanks FletcherB. When This is What Big Pharma Doesn't Want You to Know comes with a substantial price tag, it seems a bit pot/kettle.

On the Chills and old footage, I recall the footage of their show with the Stones at that venue (Rhumba Bar?) in Victoria St W
A small footnote - the one show I saw at the Rhumba Bar was marred, no doubt deliberately, by the slow intimidating walk-through of a large contingent of uniformed boys in blue. I remember my companion that night whispering that, given the sudden frigid atmosphere, The Chills' name seemed especially appropriate.
There was a great Chris Knox poster featuring The Stones, would love to see that again.

Love it - wild applause!!!
A fine thing you've uploaded there Hilary Stace :)
Also, a rarely performed NZ play that I regret not having seen back when I had the chance. Notable because, apart from a nice Barry Linton poster for it's initial, and probably only, season, it featured an entire cast of asthmatics.

I never have read anything on Kiwiblog as obsequious about a National Party leader as this.
So when did you start reading Kiwiblog? Whatever Salmond's shortcomings, he managed to refrain from this kind of faux-celeb gushery.

The trouble with Matinee Idle is that it very effectively satirises an under-financed radio station playing self-indulgent dreck for 30 hours a week.
The few times I've listened I'm reminded of a long-departed friend who, with his darkly cynical sense of humour, never tired of predicting that the excesses of our generation would eventually provoke our successors to intern us in concentration camps. Ffs guys, stop giving them reasons to make it come true.
